The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser Review

The Ordinary is one of my favourite and highly recommended brands. I have tried A LOT of their products and I love almost all of them and repurchased a lot too.

The Squalane Cleanser is the first-ever cleanser from the brand and I have been waiting to get my hands on it for a while. This promises to target makeup removal leaving the skin feeling clean and soft. It promises to be gentle enough for daily use without over-drying the skin

Experience

I use this as a first cleanse to remove makeup, SPF and daily grime before going in with a face wash. I have experienced no irritation from this. I am not a huge fan of the scent, it’s not horrible but I find it a little unpleasant, it’s not unpleasant enough that I stop using it but enough that I’m happy to not repurchase it.

The white balm texture melts into oil after massaging it for a few seconds. When it’s an oil, it really works to break down foundation and mascara with ease. I have used a cloth to remove this and also rinsed it with water and with both ways I find it easy to remove. The oil emulsifies with water and it removes all makeup without leaving residue on the skin. it doesn’t leave the skin dry at all.

Verdict

I like the cleanser, it’s effective, it’s affordable and works really well. The packaging makes it very easy to use. The only reason why I won’t repurchase is that I really do not like the scent and I have used so many other balms that smell better and work just as well if not better. I’m not sure what Squalane smells like so it could be just that but for me, I just don’t like the scent.

This is an effective first cleanser. Warms into oil after a few seconds after massaging and works well against mascara. I just wish I liked the scent so I can repurchase lol but I would recommend.

Squalane Cleanser is £5.50 on Deciem
