Ultimate Empties Challenge- March

Hey hey people, wow March is over! The month flew by and once again it’s time for another instalment in the Ultimate Empties Challenge. It was a struggle to hit my target for March but I managed to pull it off! Let’s get straight into it

Skincare

Cleansers & Toners

Nip Fab Dragon’s Blood Daily Cleansing pads. They are on sale for £5 on the NipFab website so I purchased 3 back in Jan. I love using these in the mornings to hydrate my skin but also to cleanse my pores as it has salicylic acid in it too. It doesn’t sting. Nip Fab Daily Glycolic Fix Cleansing pads. This is the travel size version and has 2% aha. I used these on my trip to Snowdonia. 2 more face wipes- Primark Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes & Superdrug Cleansing Facial Wipes. I like the Superdrug ones better than the Primark ones. They feel softer and moist and do a good job at removing eye makeup. No7 Beautiful skin Hot Cloth Cleanser. Full review here. Finally another sachet of the Estee Lauder Advanced Micro Cleansing foam.

Face masks

Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack under Eye Brightening patches– these are really nice, I notice a small improvement in brightness but it’s nice for hydrating. Nip Fab No Needle Fix Eye Mask– I love this! I was a bit sceptical as it’s a full eye mask compared to the traditional [amazon_textlink asin=’B014BVW62S’ text=’eye patches’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’sarahfynn-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’da634554-34d4-11e8-9716-0db94fb880c8′]. But it fits well and stays put! Its hydrates and leaves the under eye area fresh, plump and bright! These are well soaked too but not too much to drip everywhere. I also love the fact that it targets the brow area too. Pop these on and suddenly you look like a skincare spy lol. It says it’s anti-wrinkle and anti-aging but I don’t see that effect in the 20 mins you leave it on. Maybe it’s accumulative, either way, I love these masks and I will buy some more. NipFab Glycolic Fix Bubble Mask Extreme– I love this although I’m not sure why this is called extreme its only 2% glycolic acid! The masks foams up when on and I tend to let this sit for 10 mins. It leaves my skin so glowy and smooth! It’s unreal! I love the fact that it as charcoal in it too that means it has some detox action going on. It was my first time trying this out and again I will happily repurchase, in fact I have 2 more left! Its Skin Clear Skin Carrot sheet mask– following the success of it’s skin serums I tried a couple of months back, I have been wanting to try a few more of their products. I purchased this [amazon_textlink asin=’B01JBL1ZXE’ text=’sheet mask’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’sarahfynn-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’eff08b16-34d4-11e8-b10a-9b45e71d8b8a’] (and 2 others) from FeelUnique and I have no regrets. The Carrot sheet mask is for brightening and made with natural ingredients. First off, I feel like the quality of this sheet mask is so much better than others I have tried. It feels like quality material. I thought the mask hydrated my skin but also added some healthy glow to it. My skin felt and looked healthier too. Douglas Essential Instant Radiance Mask– I got this gel-textured mask when I went to Geneva in Feb. This mask doesn’t do anything not even hydrate lol. It was only 1.99 CHF more or less so I ain’t even pissed lol

Serums/oil & Creams

I posted a picture of how I was getting on with the [amazon_textlink asin=’B0077TLO4I’ text=’Kiehl’s Dark Spot Solution’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’sarahfynn-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’ff6b4074-34d4-11e8-b13e-918ff2d0316a’] on my Instagram. I love this serum so much! It improved my skin’s clarity and left it smooth and radiant. I used it in conjunction with The Ordinary’s Advanced Retinoid 2%( they have changed the name of this). This is my 1st retinol product and I am HOOKED! I found this creamy and hydrating and absorbs into the skin quickly, even layered on top of the Kiehl’s. I did notice however in the 1st 3 days of using this, I experienced dryness, itching and texture irregularities but after that, my skin was so smooth and remained that way throughout its use. The biggest improvement from the retinol was definitely my skin texture, it left my skin smooth and I didn’t suffer from texture issues either. I think these two serums complemented each other perfectly and I will revisit this combo again in the autumn/winter months! I also finished my fav BodyShop Vit C Glow Protect Lotion SPF 30. A full review in a previous post here. Ziyanda’s Kalahari& Marula oil – full review and my thoughts here

Makeup

I run out of two setting sprays this month. The Pur Hydrate & Mist setting spray, I didn’t enjoy using this mist and I am so glad it’s finally finished! It was compared a lot to the Mac Fix Plus but this falls short! My full thoughts on it here. Makeup Revolution Illuminating Fixing Spray. This one I liked. I found I did have to layer this mist on quite a bit to get the glowy finish I wanted but it doesn’t disturb makeup and dry in patches. It sprays in an even fine mist which was pleasant too. You do have to shake it well before use. There is very very very very subtle glitter in this and I only noticed it trying to mist the tiny amount that’s left in the bottle on the back on my hands when writing this post to test this very thing out. And I didn’t shake it. So it’s safe to say shaking mixes the glitter BUT it’s still very subtle. I certainly didn’t notice any glitter on my face when I was using it. The glowing finish is very subtle too so I would sometimes layer this underneath the Pixi Glow Mist or use this alone but with several layers. Not the greatest scent, but it doesn’t linger

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand– soo CT lets talk. 1st off, the under eye cream was ok, nothing special then that concealer part hmm. It was so textured and balled up when I used it! I was pissed because on that particular day I used it, I was in a hurry and used it to prime my eyelids for shadows but the darn thing kept balling up that I couldn’t even set it with a powder! I literally had to wipe it all off and start again! Now I’m not sure if it’s this sample or if the full item is the same but it put me off the whole thing! I went for the Retoucher instead and that’s honestly much better!

Haircare

I won’t go into great detail about this brand as these products are no longer available. I finished the Curl Harmony Curl Cleanser & Intensive Repair Deep Conditioner. I got the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Shampoo in the You Beauty Advent Calendar last year and I must admit I enjoyed using it. It has a great scent and it left my wigs so soft! Crème of Nature coconut detangling leave-in milk. I have a love-hate relationship with the scent of this. It has a strong coconut scent which is nice but it lingers for a while so I tend to get tired of it lol. I haven’t used this to detangle my hair but I loved it for a quick spritz of hydration when my hair is braided underneath my wigs. It also works great on [amazon_textlink asin=’B01H32EDZU’ text=’curly hair extensions’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’sarahfynn-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’1ae84cf4-34d5-11e8-b300-cf52013de733′], in fact this is what I used it for the most, to define the curls! It sprays in a fine mist and it’s not oily too. I may repurchase later but only if there are no other alternatives, mainly because if the strong scent. It says it’s a new fragrance so I can’t help but think what the old one was like.

Others

Sure deodorant and a sample of Givenchy Live Irresistible Blossom Cherry Perfume which I love so buying the full size soon

Grand total- 24

Total so far- 78

That’s all folks! Another month with me surpassing my target! Ayyyy its my birthday month and this year for my 25th birthday, I am going all out!
