L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying Base Primer Review

Loreal Infallible Mattifying Base primer review

Hey hey

The Drugstore Primer series is almost coming to an end with just two more to go( find out which primer I am using now on my Instagram!)! This week’s review will be on the L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying Base Primer I have been using for the past week (I’m a little late with this review)

L’Oréal’s mattifying primer promises to minimise imperfections, pores and shine. It gives a mattifying effecting and a velvet soft even surface

Experience

This primer isn’t what I thought it would be. I first thought it would be super matte and super drying so I wasn’t really looking forward to it. However, it’s none of that. It has a smooth texture and gives a nice canvas to work on. It has some pore reducing abilities but this isn’t a lot. In terms of mattifying, it doesn’t give a very mattifying finish, maybe a semi-matte finish.

It also claims to be oil controlling but I’m on the fence about this. My t-zone still gets slightly oily after 4 to 5 hours of wear and which is the usual time it takes anyway. What I do like about the primer though is that it keeps your makeup looking good even after sweating. (Probably because I combined it with the setting spray). I used this primer when I went to Oxford Street for some errands and at the end of the day my makeup looked good, no rubbing off or melting away.

I do wish though it give a little bit more smoothness when applied but nonetheless it’s a nice primer.

Verdict

A nice primer from L’Oréal although for the price and its claims I wanted slightly more from it. I like it because it didn’t give me a really matte finish but for someone wanting that they may find this slightly disappointing ( a friend with oily skin who using this as well says it makes her skin oily lol). The primer is non-comedogenic which means it wont clog your pores, a win if you have large pores. It also goes on clear and dries clear

L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying Base Primer is £7.99 from Boots
