This year I started my ‘tour’ of vitamin C serums, we know the mother of all Vitamin C serums is the very popular SkinCeutical CE Ferulic which also costs £109 for 30ml! So I started my tour to find dupes and the best-formulated Vitamin C serums on the market.
I got the Timeless 20% Vitamin C & E Ferulic Acid serum which is known as a dupe for the skinCeutical.
What the brand says:
Vitamin C in the form of L-ascorbic acid is a super-potent antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution. On its own, it’s super effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and other signs of photodamage, such as hyperpigmentation and sunspots.
Teamed with 1% of free radical fighting Ferulic Acid and 1% of skin-nourishing Vitamin E, it’s the perfect blend of brightening and firming ingredients, fast-tracking your way to gorgeous skin. It restores the skin’s natural elasticity by supporting collagen production from within. With a natural vitamin C skincare product, your skin is provided with the nutrients and vitamins it needs to replenish. Through the use of the Vitamin C serum, you can provide your skin with a fully nourished, beautifully replenished look without making it dry out or look older and wrinkled.
Enriched with the finest ingredients, including vitamin C, you can enjoy an anti-aging skin serum that allows your skin to feel nourished and loved, each and every time you apply it on. Unlike other skincare products, this product is a proven match for most skin types, to provide the benefits and nourishing effects you’ve come to expect from a high-quality Vitamin C serum.
Experience
I got mine in the restock which meant it came quite fresh. I really like that they have the manufacturing date on them as they are made in batches. I started using it right away, every morning after cleansing and toning. My current AM routine is in the pic above
What I liked: this formula has 20% L-ascorbic acid, 1% Ferulic and Vitamin E which is the best antioxidant combo for protection and to fight hyperpigmentation. Although it’s a high Vitamin C content, I did not experience any irritation or stinging with the serum. It is a very watery serum that goes onto the skin easily and absorbs quickly. It doesn’t pill and layers quite well with other products. What I really like is the addition of Sodium hyaluronate which is hyaluronic acid so it leaves the skin very hydrated.
I started noticing results around 3 weeks, my skin looks brighter and is glowing. I haven’t seen a difference in hyperpigmentation yet but my skin appears healthier and even-toned.
The serum used to come in a dropper bottle but I am so glad it’s now in an airless pump bottle to keep the Vitamin C fresh
What I didn’t like: not really a big deal but it goes out of stock quickly.
Verdict
This is an excellent and more affordable alternative to the skinCeutical CE serum. The Timeless formula has a very short ingredient list and the addition of hyaluronic acid really helps to hydrate the skin. For a high Vitamin content, I did not experience stinging or irritation, this was a pleasure to use.
This serum is made in batches so it goes out of stock quickly but they are very good at keeping customers updated. I got mine in the 1st week of June and started using it on 14/6, I wrote this review on 18th July and I can see it slowly changing colour. it’s not quite oxidised yet but its, not the clear cloudy colour it was when it arrived fresh. I have about 3 days left anyways s I don’t mind.
What’s great about the Timeless website is that they also sell some popular K beauty items.
