Peter Thomas Roth Potent C Serum review

Peter Thomas Roth has become one of my favourite luxury brands because of their amazing gift sets. It’s one of the few luxury brands I find that has a lot of gift sets with good sizes trial sizes at good prices. And their products actually work.

Today’s post is a full review of the Potent C serum I got in the A List giftset on Beautylish.

What the brand says

The future of Vitamin C has arrived. Potent-C™ Power Serum unleashes the strength of THD Ascorbate, an ultra-stable scientific breakthrough ingredient 50 X more powerful than traditional Vitamin C. Packed with a jaw-dropping concentration of 20% THD Ascorbate, the serum’s performance is amplified by the addition of two ultra-powerful antioxidants (3% Vitamin E and 2% Ferulic Acid), delivering a complete and advanced formula for aging, firming and brightening concerns. This rich moisturizing serum is a must to help improve the look of fine lines, wrinkles, firmness, uneven skin tone, texture and brightness. Fragrance-free.

 Experience

The 10ml bottle lasted 1 week and 6 days. I used 4-5 pumps every morning over my face neck and chest. I did not experience any irritation from it. This serum is fragrance-free but there is a subtle scent of oranges. It’s extremely lightweight and is quickly absorbed into the skin. It doesn’t leave a residue but it looks and feels like you have just applied a light oil to the skin. It dries down quickly and doesn’t pill, infact it layers quite well with other serums.

This serum combines two powerful antioxidants: THD Ascorbate which is a stable form of Vitamin C. This has been modified so that it is soluble in oil/lipids which also makes it better at penetrating the deeper layers of the skin. This derivate of Vit C has excellent skin brightening properties. The formula also combines Vitamin E and Ferulic acid- 2 powerful antioxidants that help protect against free radical damage. As a whole, I find this formula to be a skin brightening and antioxidant powerhouse. The packaging does well to protect its content from sun, light and air as these can damage Vitamin C and render is useless. I actually really like the packaging.

Over the week I was using it, I found my skin appearing healthier and looking brighter. The serum promises to improve fine lines and wrinkles but I do not have any of those so I can’t comment on that. It did improve overall texture and brightness.

Verdict

I think the serum would have lasted longer if I used 2 to 3 pumps daily. You are directed to use both morning and night however I stuck to using it in the day time because I wanted the antioxidant protection in the AM. I have always been interested in the full size of this product but I wanted to try a trial size first as the full size if quite expensive. This serum is also packed with skin moisturising ingredients that help moisturise the skin as well as protecting it from the environment.

I really like this serum and I would happily buy the full size.. on sale or with a discount code( a girl has to save right?). If you want to try this serum, I would recommend getting the sample size in a giftset first (they don’t sell it individually) to test out before dishing £76 on the full size!

The set I purchased on Beautylish is linked above. For my UK girls you can get it in Hydration Glow up Kit on Beauty Bay for £36 (comes with 2 other product including 1 full-size item!)

You can also purchase the serum with other Potent C items in the Potent C trio on Beautylish

Btw Beautylish is a legit website and I have purchased so many items from them. Their customer service is top-notch!

I really liked this serum and 100% would recommend it. it is a well-rounded formula and it was just a pleasure to use.
