Pixi skincare added new collections to their skincare range over the last year and out of them, the Vitamin C range caught my eye. I purchased 3 trial sizes of the Vitamin C, Balm and Lotion to review. I have been using the Vitamin C Tonic which I have finished so its time for a full review
Vitamin C Tonic promises antioxidant power and healthy collagen production. It is alcohol-free and gently exfoliates the skin
Experience
The mini-trial size lasted just over 1 week. I was using it every morning on my face and neck and a few times at night. I have experienced no irritation from it.
The tonic has a pleasant mild scent and doesn’t sting my skin. I use after cleansing and I find whilst it doesn’t add any hydration (it doesn’t promise this) it leaves my skin looking refreshed. Over the week I was using it, I did notice my skin looking a bit brighter, not by miles but I started using this at a time my skin was looking dull so I did like the effect I got.
Verdict
I do really like this toner and I may repurchase. I have a few cons: the packaging makes it difficult for dispensing. I have used a lot of toners but I have never used a toner that stains my cotton pads its colour. The toner doesn’t stain the skin however I just find it odd the pad goes completely yellow too.
Remember I had issues with customer service when I purchased from the website? And I noticed they hardly work with bloggers of colour and their complexion makeup has nothing for dark skintones.
Pixi has left an unpleasant taste with me so it’s difficult for me to keep supporting a brand which doesn’t support people like me.
In other news Nip Fab has just released a Vitamin C range so I will try and get my hands on it soon
