Ever since Nyx Cosmetics officially launched in the UK, their popularity here has been growing from strength to strength. With their wide variety of products, shades, affordable prices and ease of access, it’s easy to see why.
Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Concealer is one of their popular concealers, it comes in 17 shades and it’s only £6! It was actually the very first Nyx product I got. In this post, I will bring you a full review of this concealer. I have had this for a long time so I know exactly how it works. It is described as a lightweight concealer offering medium to full coverage without looking cakey or obvious.
Experience
This is a good drugstore concealer. It feels creamy on the skin and goes on smoothly. The wand applicator makes it easy to use. The concealer does offer medium coverage and it’s easily buildable. It also blends easily. It wears very well during the day and doesn’t crease easily and quickly.
The only con I have about the HD concealer is the fact that it oxidises. The shade I have, Nutmeg would have been a good shade if it didn’t oxidise. Nutmeg has a yellow/golden undertone which I have so I prefer in my complexion products. They have added more shades and I am not sure if they have changed the formula. I got this concealer over 4 years ago and it oxidised from first use but I don’t know if any of them oxidise now. I have seen a new shade I would like but I would need to test it out first.
Verdict
I would recommend this concealer and I would say go a shade up if it still oxidises. It blends well and builds to full coverage without looking cakey. It wears well during the day and best of all its only £6! I have also given you some of my shade references in other concealers and to compare undertones.
I cant wait to try the new Cant Stop Wont stop concealer! I didn’t pick up the foundation because apparently its very matte and I am not the biggest fan of matte foundations.
