Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser Review

Clarins skincare, its brand that’s been around for a while but has never really peaked my interested. They also have a makeup range but nothing for my skin tone and below so I don’t bother with checking them out. I have tried two of their products which I received as a Christmas gift about 2 years ago (and I am only getting round to using them now smh). This review will be on the One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser.

The cleanser has been formulated with orange and moringa extract to soften, tone and protect the skin from pollution. Its promises to polish away makeup, gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin to leave it soft, smooth and luminous

Experience

I love the fresh orange scent of the cleanser, it isn’t overpowering and it doesn’t linger and it’s great to use in the mornings. The texture of the cleanser is that of a cream with exfoliating grains in it.

The cleanser is mild and doesn’t feel harsh on the skin. It doesn’t lather much (I wasn’t expecting this anyway) but I do feel like my skin is clean afterwards. My skin doesn’t feel dry, even when I have used the cleanser in the morning, my skin still feels normal throughout the day. It leaves my skin soft. When I use this as my PM cleanser, without makeup, it is enough to use it as a 1 step cleansing routine.

I wouldn’t use this to remove makeup only because of the exfoliating grains and I don’t want to run the risk of applying to much pressure with my hands. I also wouldn’t recommend using it as an everyday makeup remover due to the exfoliating grains

Verdict

A lovely cream exfoliating cleanser. I use it once or twice a week just depending on what I am in the mood for. I have come away from using physical scrubs for my skin as I will treat this as a scrub instead of a cleanser.

I think its gentle enough for all skin types but for sensitive skin please contact them directly for more information.

In total I have tried two products from Clarins but it really doesn’t make me want to try more because of their makeup range. Happy to use this up and I won’t purchase it again.
