L’Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew Anti-Ageing Glycolic Peel Pads Review

I can’t get enough of Glycolic acids and I always want to try the latest (but budget-friendly) AHA product there is. I have used a lot of acid toners and they are my preferred type of toner for my PM routine. I have reviews on Pixi Glow, Naturally radiant pads, Nip fab glycolic pads and a post on AHA’s.

The L’Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew Anti-Ageing Glycolic Peel Pads come in a tub of 30 and have 9.6% AHA. They promise to target 3 issues: wrinkles, texture and tone.

Experience

A hit and miss experience for me with this product. I got this product in the summer and started using it then but switched to less AHA content as I didn’t want my skin more sensitive to the sun. Even back then, I remember the pads not being as moist as I would have liked or as I am used to with the Nip Fab pads. They are not soaking wet but they feel moist, the L’Oréal pads feel ‘damp’. L’Oréal makes really big claims with the pads, they claim after 1 pad the skin is clarified, smoother and more radiant but again I didn’t experience that. I have started using them again and they still feel damp and (maybe) a bit more drier (the pads on the top of the pack, the ones at the bottom feel the same as when I first used them) but I understand if it’s because it’s been sitting in my collection for a while (even with that, I have had pads where I have opened and stopped using for a while and they don’t feel as ‘dry’ as the L’Oréal pads. I always screw them tightly to prevent them from drying out).

I have switched from Glossier’s 10% AHA/PHA/BHA to this 9.6% AHA hoping it would have the same effect (or similar) in terms of smoothing my skin. I am well aware that Glossier is a multi-acid formula and the L’Oréal is a single acid formula but seeing that it is at a high % it should perform well on its own (I have used a 7% AHA and it has performed better than this). I was wrong and I would say the L’Oréal didn’t make a difference. I dealt with a lot of texture (not due to this product) but this didn’t help with smoothing it any quicker. I also haven’t experienced any difference in terms of skin tone improvement.

I use two pads mainly because they are quite damp across my face and neck. For me, the product didn’t sting but I can imagine it may do if you have sensitive skin or a novice at using skin acids. I think the only thing I actually like about the pads is the fact that they are bigger than the average acid pads you get at the drugstore and they are ‘thicker’ too as in they don’t feel flimsy like the Nip fab ones. On the other hand, I thought the textured side of the pads were quite ‘rough’

Verdict

I didn’t enjoy using this pads and very disappointed as this product had a lot of potential. I also think it is slightly overpriced. The full price is £22.49 for 30 pads (I bought mine on offer for £14.99 and I had a discount too so I think I pad £12ish in total).

I’m not sure if I want to give this another try, maybe using it consistently from the start to see if I would get different results but I probably wouldn’t.

Let me know if you have tried this product? Did you like it?
