Peter Thomas Roth (PTR) is a luxury brand with a ton of products that target some of the skin’s most common issues: texture, discolourations, dehydrated skin etc. A few of their items are on my wishlist but today’s post will be on a product I have used up from them
The PTR Anti-Ageing Cleansing Gel is formulated with salicylic and glycolic acids to clarify and brighten skin to promote a healthy complexion. They promise pore detox, improving skin texture and dissolves makeup and oils
Experience
I only had the travel size bottle of this cleanser but it lasted me quite a long time. This is definitely a luxurious cleanser and it feels very nice and gentle on the skin. It has a pleasant scent and I didn’t find it irritating. It didn’t strip my skin of its natural oils/moisture.
I really like this cleanser. I am not sure of the exact acid concentrations in the cleanser (they are the 6th and 7th ingredient in the list) but it didn’t sting my skin. It produces a gentle lather which dissolves makeup residue, dirt and oils from the day. I also found you only need a small amount, a little goes a long way with this cleanser. I love it as both a morning and evening cleanser as I find it gentle enough for both and non-stripping. In terms of improving texture, I took this on my trip to Venice and I experienced a lot of texture (little sleep and water, lots of wine lol) whilst this didn’t prevent it, the cleanser it help my skin look smoother when I used it.
Verdict
A very good cleanser with a luxurious feel, it really leaves my skin clean and refreshed afterwards. This is my first PTR product and I am really looking forward to using more of their products. I do love the Glycolic and Salicylic acids in this cleanser as they help with chemical exfoliation but as always SPF use is essential.
