Brand Review: the BodyShop Skincare collection

I have a brand review for you guys and today I will be talking about the BodyShop skincare collection! I have dabbled and used a lot of different products across the BodyShop skincare ranges and I thought it would be a good idea to condense all my reviews in one post and how you can easily slot the products in your skincare routine. How fitting this is post though, The BodyShop are currently having a £20 off a £50 spend offer. Discount code is 14664 it’s valid online and in store. BUT HURRY for  a short time. It’s not valid on everything but on most items mentioned here!

Skincare collection

I have tried something from most of their skincare ranges but the most are probably from their Vitamin E (hydration & antioxidant support), Vitamin C (brightening) and Drops of Light (brightening & uneven skin) collections

Face Mists– I love the Vitamin E and Vitamin C face mists! I mostly use them as makeup setting sprays although very recently I have been using the Vitamin E mist as a skincare mist and I am loving that also. They are light and hydrating and the Vitamin C mist gives a dewy finish to makeup!

Routine step- use as a last step in your makeup routine as a makeup setting spray or as the 2nd/3rd step in your skincare routine as a mist after cleansing and toning

Face Masks– Their Expert Face masks collection launched sometime 2 years ago and I love 2 masks from the range! I am looking to try more. The Himalayan Charcoal is the drugstore dupe of the Glamglow Youth Mud (£16 vs £46) it tightens, clears pores and is great for oily congested skin! I love this in the summer. The British Rose face mask is a lovely gel mask for hydration. It feels so soothing on the skin and adds the right amount of hydration too. I love using this in the summer too after a hot day but mostly in the winter for hydration!

Routine step- 2-3 times a week depending on skin type and need. Leave on 10-15 mins and rinse off

Serums/Essence/Cleansers– I have tried 2 serums, the one I love is the Drops of Light Brightening Serum which I used last year- it helped improve the clarity and overall radiance of my skin. The second is the Vitamin C skin reviver-I’m not really sure what this is used for, it feels like a primer but it’s not described as so. I used it as the last step after sunscreen to smooth my skin. I did not like it

If you follow me on social media, you will know how much I love the BodyShop SPF 50! Its light, non-oily but best of all 100% transparent on dark skin! It’s a chemical sunscreen but I really like it as it also has Vitamin C derivatives (Vit C works well with SPF rated products) I have lost count of how many tubes I have used of this product and I look forward to next summer to add to my routine! ( no need for SPF 50 in cooler months). The Drops of Light Essence Lotion, however, was a big let-down, I thought it would have similar efficacy as the serum but I was wrong. It only adds a light hydration to the skin although it doesn’t feel sticky or clog pores.

Routine step- SPF as last step in skincare routine before makeup. Essence- after cleansing and toning.

Many years ago, I also tried the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil and I liked it so. It was at a time I didn’t appreciate anything but micellar water and wipes for cleansing but oh how I have grown since then!

Routine step- makeup remover/ 1st cleanse

Makeup

I haven’t tried a lot of BodyShop makeup but I love the pants out of the Instablur primer! It smoothes, fills pores and extends makeup wear! Great for oily skin, it’s one thing I always recommend from BodyShop! I also liked the Fresh Nude Foundation. Could they do with more shades? Absolutely! They have shade adjusting drops (light & dark but it’s no excuse)

Routine step- Primer- last step before foundation application

Body care

I stole my mum’s ( well technically borrowed and used some of lol) Spa of The World Brazilian Cupuacu Scrub in oil body scrub and let me testify of how amazing it is! It smells great and leaves the skin so soft, glowy and moisturised. I have also tried a lot of their body butters, mostly used as hand creams but I love the StrawberryShea and Almond Milk body butters!

Routine step- scrub- before showering. Body butter- after showering

Don’t forget to use the discount code, The code is valid online and in store! I found with the BodyShop if you are a club member and you have redeemable points, you can use that towards your purchase too online! I.e. you can combine this offer and any £5 vouchers you have! I have tried it many times online and it’s worked, not sure in store though

I hope this helps! I have a few more brand review posts coming up, a lot of it will be drugstore brands we see and love and very affordable to try

Catch you later!
