Hey hey, what’s good people?! we are officially halfway through 2018, this series and its summer! We are experiencing some very good weather here in the UK and it looks like it will last.
Anyway, my Ultimate Empties Challenge has come to an important milestone- its halfway through the challenge so I get to see how far I have come and how many more products I need to finish. I’m very happy to report I have seen a reduction in my products and my buying habits have also reduced! So
Les get into June’s empties then, I will link reviews and where to purchase
Cleansers & Toners
Nip Fab Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads – I LOVE these pads! Excellent for travel and they contain 2% AHA to retexturize the skin. I took these on holiday to Greece and honestly it was a lifesaver! I will definitely repurchase on my next trip to Superdrug! These are cleansing pads so they act like a face wash. Nip Fab Daily Fix Glycolic Pads– these are the travel size and again a staple in my routine. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist– another mist I have discovered and honestly love. This mist sprays in a fine mist, hydrates the skin and leaves it glowing. It didn’t clog my pores or leave my skin feeling sticky. It actually makes a difference. I used it twice a day, morning & evening after toning. Did I abuse this by over spraying? Yes. Will I repurchase? Yes! it’s a delicate scent which I found pleasant. I actually didn’t know if I would like this as I have only tried one other product from the Eight Hour range from Elizabeth Arden, the Eight Hour Cream and I HATED that. I am finally finished with the travel size Primark Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes.
Face Masks, Sheet Masks, Eye Masks & a Lip Mask
More Amazon sheet masks, from the Jluna brand, I used the Pomegranate, Vitamin C & Green Tea sheet masks. I really do like these masks. They basically do the same thing add moisture to the skin but I do notice the difference (albeit small) in scent. 2 more Tony Moly Eye patches– as I have mentioned before, these are ok but I do not like the size/design of them. I don’t enjoy using them so its taking me longer than I thought to finish them. I wouldn’t repurchase. Nuxe 24HR Soothing & Rehydrating Fresh Mask– this mask has done the biggest come up in my collection lol. I used to hate this mask and didn’t think it did much but all that changed when I used it one time when my skin was ‘stressed’. I noticed how my skin felt afterwards- hydrated, calm and soft and since then I have been using this mask very frequently! I used this when I came back from holiday when my skin was ‘stressed’ and in this heatwave, we have in the UK. It really works and I am definitely buying this! I’m not sure how it works but it leaves my skin calm and soothed and hydrated! Sephora Pomegranate sheet mask– s staple in the collection. Sephora Shea lip mask– second time I am using this and love it! Sephora Watermelon After sun Tissue sheet mask (green pack)- this was a pleasant surprise. I discovered it in Santorini ( I didn’t even know they had a Sephora )so I just had to buy it. This is features a different material compared to the usual sheets masks and it comes in two parts- for the face and chest. I LOVE THIS! It’s cooling, hydrating and perfect to cool the skin after being in the sun. I used this in Santorini and my skin felt so good! I bought another to bring home
Haircare
Finally! I have more than 2 empties in the hair care department! I finish the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo– I really liked this shampoo when I first started using it however in the last few times I noticed it has changed texture. It wasn’t as thick as it used to be and it also didn’t lather as much. I know I have had it for 2 years but my other products haven’t changed on it. ( I also realised this with other SM stuff I have had for a while and used. Hm) anyway, it leaves my hair soft and cleansed. Cantu Leave in conditioner for Natural Hair– tbh I love the original version more than this one for natural hair. its ok but too much and it doesn’t fully absorb into the hair. this one doesn’t pair too well with other products too so I have to be careful with what I use with it. Its another product I have had for a while and happy to finally finish it. ApHogee Two Step Protein Treatment– holy grail protein treatment even though it’s a mess to apply. I don’t use this often so this bottle had lasted a while. For the last use, I notice the scent was slightly off so I didn use it on my hair but on a wig. Intensive colour hair conditioner– conditioner that came in a box dye I used from Superdrug. This one actually smelt nice and leave my wig soft. Andre Walker Q Oil– literally one of the best oils I have used for my hair. it leaves my hair silky smooth and seals in moisture plus leaves a good shine to my hair! It feels more like a serum but I love it. Mielle Organics Mint Almond Oil– loved the peppermint scent of this. I mainly used this for pre pooing or as a scalp oil but not often enough to notice growth. I have literally had this oil for 2 and half years lol and its finally finished. Crème of Nature Leave in conditioner– best leave in I have used and I have lost count of how many times I have purchased it.
Creams & Serums
I have shared my full thoughts on the Ordinary Niacinamide serum and how its helped my skin over the summer. Check out the review here. I also have a review on the Ascorbyl Glucoside serum, check that out here. Nip Fab Post Glycolic Moisturiser SPF 30– this is an ok moisturiser although I preferred it for my body instead of my face. It adds a bit of moisture but it leaves a silver/ashy tint to my skin. I took this on holiday and used it as SPF for my body. I bought it in a sale from the NipFab website but its something I won’t repurchase. If you follow me on insta, you know how much I rave about this product, the BodyShop Skin defence SPF 50. I have the full review on there. this is probably my 3rd bottle and I have the larger tube sitting on my vanity now!
Makeup
I have finished two setting sprays: Urban Decay all Nighter and Maybelline Dream Satin Mist I have a back of this and its already on my vanity! It’s a fine mist and leaves the skin luminous with leaving it too oily or looking oily. It also doesn’t clog pores. it’s an excellent drugstore alternative
Others
Nair Shower Power Cream & Nair hair removal– after an accident with shaving years ago, I have pretty much stuck to hair removal creams. Mitchum roll on– probably the best deodrant in the drugstore! Keeps me dry and odour free although it leaves white marks when it dries. Nivea pearl roll on– my travel size roll on. Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude– I do really like this perfume but the eau de toilette version is very light. It evaporates as soon as step out LOL, ,honestly I couldn’t smell this during the day. Orange Essential Oil– came in my BioKari box and I really love the scent
