Foundation Of the Month- MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation SPF 15

If you are looking for a new foundation, I got you covered. I decided to start a foundation series over on my Insta page because I realised I have a few foundations and its only best to share which ones work well and have enough shades for dark skin tones! So the challenge I set myself is this, every month (I made a rota guys smh), I stick to using 1 foundation and report back to you guys. I am loving the challenge so far because I am enjoying rediscovering some foundations I had in my collection! Doing this has also shown me how far I have come in selecting better foundation shades & undertones for my skin tone. I am also learning how to work with the shades that aren’t quite a good match but not bad enough to sell or throw away

Anyway, let’s get into it!

For the month of January, I used the Mac Mineralize Moisture Foundation SPF15. I’m in the shade NW47

I purchased this foundation when I randomly went to MAC for something else. I got a sample of this and tested it for a few days then I went back for it because I was impressed with it so much!

This foundation is definitely one of my favourites. It leaves a beautiful luminous finish and has medium buildable coverage. It literally feels like nothing on the skin. It has caused me no irritation and I find it doesn’t clog pores or emphasise texture on the skin. Because it has a very dewy finish, I think this is more suitable for dry to normal skin types.  Have normal to combo skin however in the winter, my skin lends more towards the normal scale so I can get away with this. I also tend to use this more in the colder months since it’s so dry out, this foundation leaves the skin healthy and glowy. It’s a long-wearing foundation and in my experience is only starts to separate, usually in my smile lines around 5-6 hours of wear but that’s with all foundations with me anyway. I won’t count that as a con.

It doesn’t oxidise. Swatches & comparison shades

I will admit this isn’t a huge shade range, there are only 18 shades in total and I am NW47. Although their Next to Nothing Foundation is quite similar to this. Below is a picture of me wearing it, I didn’t think to take a proper selfie in Jan because I thought I would be doing this on insta alone, but have no fear, I will do better LOL.

That’s it, folks! I am playing catch up, I know! I debated on whether I should bring this series to my blog because it’s already on my Instagram. But since Instagram wants to mess up their timeline, I thought I would do it here as well. Instagram will show the snippets whilst my blog will have the full review and thoughts on it! I have already posted February’s foundation on Instagram and I will be bringing the full review soon on the blog! Stay tuned.
