Ultimate Empties Challenge 2018- January

Hey guys, I hope all is well. This month has been SO LONG! Damn! But alas the month is over and I am very excited to bring the 1st instalment in the Ultimate Empties Challenge! Check out the intro post here. I should be getting at least 21 empties a month to get to my overall target of 250 by December 31.

Let’s get into January’s empties! I will link where to purchase and any reviews I have done on the products too

Skincare

Lots of empties in the skincare category. In the masks collection, I finished my beloved GlamGlow Thirstmud Hydrating Mask! This mask penetrates deeply and leaves my skin radiant and hydrated. There is a slight sensation when applied but it doesn’t linger! Tip- it’s a leave on mask but I apply a little more than recommended and leave a little longer then wash off. Results- glowing soft skin! I didn’t see much results from the Bobbi Brown Instant Detox mask sample I had, maybe I need more applications but the sample lasted two masking sessions and the results were unremarkable. Onto sheet masks, I used the Sephora Avocado sheet mask, great for hydration and the Rose Eye mask for the under eye area

For cleansers & toners- I also managed to finish the Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser- as I mentioned in my review, I love the concept but the ingredients are so harsh on my skin! I’m just happy to get done with it. Primark travel size face wipes (not pictured) – I have a lot of these in backup because they are cheap & great for travelling. Not the best wipes out there but they work and I follow up with a cleanser. My favourites- Nip Fab Glycolic Fix Daily & Extreme night pads are out. I use the travel size of the daily fix for trips and the big tub of the extreme at home (wish they would do the extreme pads in travel size too). For mists- I finished the very hyped but huge let down for me, Caudalie Beauty Elixir. It just didn’t live up to its claims for makeup setting. My fav drugstore mist- B Confident Hyaluronic acid mist is out too.

Two small serums- a sample size No7 Protect & Perfect Intense advanced serum- primer like texture which was nice but No7 has left a bad taste in my mouth since that bronzer wahala. Read my full rant here. Boots Botanics radiance concentrate- its ok, full review here.

Hair care

Not a lot in the hair care department. A shampoo I recently fell in love with- Garnier Ultimate blends Olive oil shampoo- read why it works for natural hair here. Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Conditioner- I got this in the YOU Mag advent calendar. Great scent and leaves the hair so soft! Crème of Nature Argan buttermilk leave in hair milk- need I say more?

Body care

I’m loving body scrubs lately so I tried the Boots Botanics Mango Scrub scrub. Worst idea ever! Its oily and feels greasy on the skin. Difficult to spread and hasn’t got much grit. It’s a sweet scent that gets sickly after a while. I used up the whole 50ml because I had to scoop out a lot to make it slightly easier to spread! Soap & Glory righteous butter- I use these as hand creams and travel body moisturisers. Its ok but I love my DIY Body Butter mix! Vaseline Intensive Care healthy hands- its crap! DoveGo Fresh ( yellow cap) rubbish & smells like bleach lol. Nair Argan oil shower cream- because who’s got time for shaving?

Others- Boots Cosmetic oval pads

Grand total- 21

Right on target! So a good start to my empties challenge! Let’s see what February brings, I have a few products coming to the end of their life cycles lol

Join me on this journey! Start your own empties challenge. Catch you soon!

Hello there and welcome to my blog! My name is Sarah Fynn and I am the creator of this blog. So a bit about me, I LOVE travelling, all things hair and beaut. I love LOVE science! This blog came about as I began to transition to natural hair way back in 2011(Well it isn’t that long ago really lol). This blog will focus on 4 main areas Natural Hair. This area will have a diverse range of topics e.g. product reviews and recommendations, tips, advice and virgin hair review (my go to protective style) Lifestyle. This area is mainly poetry, inspiration and anything that doesn’t quite fit the other 3 areas Events. This is self-explanatory really. I will be covering events for my blog about natural hair, beauty and fashion or the odd event I find interesting Travel. Of course I will be bringing you posts on my adventures around the world! One of my goals is go to every single country! My travel posts may not be as regular as I would like (money problems lol) so in the meantime I will be talking about how to budget/plan and organise a trip! With any area, my aim is to INSPIRE you to either travel or go to an event even if it’s you alone, or to let you know your natural hair journey CAN BE SIMPLE! (Eek! I will try my bestest with that part)! Here you will find simple and straight forward information without the technical jargon or wooh-tah (seriously don’t you just hate that?) So don’t be a stranger and SUBSCRIBE its free. I make sure I post regularly unless I have had a very stressful week/month. Leave any comments or drop me an email to say hi, I would love to hear from you. If you’re a company/blogger and you’re interested in working with me, believe I want to too! Drop me an email if I don’t get to you first lol (I hope that doesn’t sound creepy) Email- sarah_fynn@hotmail.com Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day. Love Sarah.
