You guys may or may not know my unhealthy obsession with makeup setting sprays. Since discovering Mac Fix Plus (to me it’s the one mist I HAVE to repurchase) back in 2012 I haven’t looked back! As much as I love Fix Plus, it’s boring to keep using the same old one over and over again so enter my personal but very (un) necessarily challenge of trying very setting/ fixing spray/mist on the market! I have tried a good amount, links will be below but today I will be reviewing the Pixi Glow Mist.
I was introduced to the Pixi Beauty brand by their famous Glow Tonic and came across this by chance( cough cough YouTube) and just like that, it was on my hit list but you see the way my account is set up. I finally got this in a sale ASOS had on beauty sometime last year. Anyway enough with the back story let’s get into the product review
What is it?
Pixi Glow Mist is a nourishing mist with propolis and argan oil and promises a glowing, luminous and smooth complexion. It’s a blend of 21 natural oils plus fruit extras. You can use before or after makeup or anytime during the day
Experience
I think I am one of the few people who hates a matte finish to their makeup. The only matte thing I like is liquid lipsticks. 98.9% of my setting sprays add a dewy/luminous finish and this Glow Mist is the perfect addition to my collection! You have to shake the mist to mix the oils and water before use. I have only used the Glow Mist after makeup to set it. It sprays in a very fine mist and adds the most beautiful luminous finish to my makeup. I just need to mist this once for that luminous effect but I have been known to mist 2 or 3 times when I want an extra luminous finish or when I have used a matte finish foundation.
Do I think it makes the skin look oily? Definitely no, I have normal to oily combo skin and I think its fine however my skin does lean more towards the normal side of the scale. I won’t readily recommend this to extra oily skin types- you guys have your natural glow! and this mist will be an overkill. It has a subtle scent which doesn’t linger, dries quickly and doesn’t clog pores. In terms of leaving a smooth complexion, I think it doesn’t highlight texture as I have used it a lot of times even when I have (non-sense unwanted) texture issues on my skin.
Verdict- if you love dewy & luminous setting sprays, then Pixi’s Glow Mist is definitely one to try. It gives the most beautiful luminous finish to the skin. I won’t recommend this mist for oily skin types as I think it can be an overkill but if you do want to use this maybe with a light touch in the cooler months. I wish Pixi will go ahead and make this 100ml, it’s currently 80ml but even so it will last you a while. I a planning a repurchase soon.
