Mario Badescu Facial Spray Review

Makeup Setting sprays, Facial mists, Facial Sprays, whatever you want to call it, I love them! I have tried the whole lot- the good, bad and plain ugly LOL. Today, I am dishing on one of the good ones which is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater. Its cruelty free and paraben free

How I Use It

I have been using this to set my makeup and dampen my sponges for a while now- I’m half way down the bottle.  I use the spray to dampen my sponges for blending out concealer and on my brushes for highlighters. I mist my face with this after I apply my powder, allow it to dry (and it dries quickly too) then apply my blush, highlighter and mascara then go in with a final spritz. I really love the fact that it doesn’t smudge mascara or disturb eye shadows.

It smells nice and comes in a fine mist which means it doesn’t disturb my makeup. You can also use this underneath makeup or alone on a bare face. It’s also suitable for use on hair although I have never tried it that way.

The spray has been compared a lot to the Mac Fix Plus some saying it’s a dupe for it but in my opinion I don’t think it is. It takes away the powdery/dry look that happens when you set your makeup with powder and gives a lovely dewy finish but I don’t it’s as much as the Mac Fix Plus (maybe I need to do a side by side comparison since I haven’t used Fix Plus for a while? Hmm)

In terms of helping my makeup stay a bit longer I haven’t noticed any difference with that. It doesn’t have any oil controlling properties although it really doesn’t claim to do that and I don’t have very oily skin.  I think it’s very good for moisturising the skin and making it feel very soft. I do like it use it as the final step on my makeup free days.

Verdict- I like the spray for what it is but I don’t think it’s a dupe for the Fix Plus. I also thought it would be more expensive than what it is. It comes in two sizes and I have the smaller size (118ml) which is £7.50 on Beauty Bay

I would love to pick up some more items from this brand especially the Glycolic Cleanser.

P.S don’t worry my hair was properly styled before I left the house lol.
