Spring is the perfect time to get back on your feet and start recovering from everything you have been through. Do not get us wrong, though, winter may have been perfectly polite to you, but it was extremely harsh to your hair. During the winter days, your hair is exposed to radical temperature changes, from heated air in your home to cold outside. All of these extremes leave your hair parched, brittle, dry, frizz, vulnerable and crying out for a hair detox. So before the spring sun sheds a little too much light on your hair so the traces of winter care, or the absence of it are too obvious, it is about time to clean things up.

Cut It

Trimming the split ends is the easiest way to refresh your hair. Besides making your hair unsightly, split ends are also leading to tangles and snarls, which can cause additional damage. Furthermore, split ends are developing faster than your hair can grow new length, so it is better to get rid of them as soon as possible. After your spring trim, your hair will be much healthier and appear shinier and softer.

Rotate Your Shampoos

If you are a hair care monogamist, you should think about your options once again. The one-shampoo-to-rule-them-all followers are actually doing no good to their hair. One shampoo can work wonders for your hair one day, and then leave it dry and unappealing the other. The types of shampoos you are rotating should correlate with the weather. There is a need for change, especially when you are transition from one season to another.

Choose the Right Products

Choose the Right Products

With hair care everything is about choosing the right products – it is no different with hair detox. That might sound simple, but with the wide range of offered products, you can never tell which ones are good for your hair and which are simply marketing tricks. The most important thing is not to pollute your hair additionally with chemicals. Instead, opt for organic products you can easily find on Alive Skin+Hair online store, such as Theorie argan products. Argan oil contains enormous amounts of beneficial nutrients, like fatty acids and vitamin E, making it a magician in the world of hair care. It promotes healthy hair growth and acts as a moisturizer.

Get Rid Of Bad Habits

Your actions are the main factor in your hair care. If you have some bad habits concerning it, you should change it starting from this moment. The first sneaky habit to leave out is brushing your hair while it is wet. Wet hair strands are weaker, so it is more likely you will cause a breakage. Also, you should not dry your hair with a towel, because that may lead to excessive tangles, friction and breakage. Do not use too much styling products, or at least switch to organic ones. If there is no need for it, do not expose your hair to hairdryer and other styling items.

DIY
Besides using some standard hair detox products, you can make your own in the comfort of your home and enjoy all the benefits of synthetic hair cleansers. There are many of recipes online, but you can trust the model Josie Maran and opt for hers.

    Ingredients:

  • Rooibos tea
  • Argan oil
  • Rosemary oil

Preparation and Usage

First, brew a pot of the tea. When cool pour it over your dry hair and then brush it through. Let it soak in for 10 minutes. After, mix 3 drops of rosemary oil and 2 drops of argan oil. Use as a conditioner. Wash the oils after 10 minutes.

As you see hair detox is nothing difficult, but it is very necessary if you want your hair to look and feel great under the spring sun.
