hihi today’s post is a review on the Boucleme Intensive Deep conditioner I have been using as part of my moisturing wash day. Read my wash day post here

Boucleme describe this conditioner as Say goodbye to dry and lifeless locks. This deeply nourishing treatment makes detangling a breeze while restoring moisture, definition, shine and health.

Experience

I was given this conditioner by a friend. I have the 100ml tub which lasted 1 and half wash days lol. My experience with this is limited however as this is a deep conditioner I expect results after each use. I was able to use the conditioner for a full head for the 1st washday but half head on the 2nd.

The deep conditioner is lightweight with a thin consistency, this isn’t something I would expect from a deep conditioner but I didn’t mind it as it had a lot of slip. I was able to use for finger detangling very easily. The scent is mild, not too overpowering. I used my hot head heat cap on both wash days, deep conditioning for 45 mins

First wash day- whilst rinsing out the deep conditioner, my hair felt quite soft & conditioned. After blow drying my hair, it felt extremely dry & dehydrated and it felt that way throughout the week even after repeated moisturizing. That didn’t happen after the last blow dry in Feb. My hair felt as though it hadn’t been deep conditioned. I wondered if it was the leave in conditioner I used for the blow dry, the Redken 25 benefits ( 1st use) but either way I wasn’t impressed with the product.

2nd wash day- the deep conditioner was only able to do half my head so it was a good opportunity for me to compare to another conditioner (shea moisture shea butter rinse out conditioner). I didn’t blow dry my hair this time however I did use my usual LCO products. Again after the final rinse of the conditioner, the Boucleme side felt nice & soft however whilst my hair was drying, that side didn’t feel as conditioned as the Shea moisture side and the SM is a rinse out conditioner!.

Verdict

After my test, Ive just concluded for my 4c coarse hair, this deep conditioner is simply not good enough. Typically I lean towards thicker creamier deep conditioners but whilst I enjoyed the slip this provided for finger detangling it just wasn’t enough to properly deep condition & soften my hair after rinsing it out. I’m glad I didn’t buy this and glad its a small tub. I wont repurchase. This conditioner may be better suited for looser curl patterns or texture not as coarse as mine.
