Radiant makeup was made for winter! When its cold, wet and dry outside, the last thing you want is mattifying makeup that makes your skin feel dry and makeup cakey.
I prefer radiant makeup over matte, even in summer (I know I know) so I have tried a lot of radiant/luminous foundations. I’ve summarised my favourite ones below. Between these foundations, there’s a good range of shades and undertones to suit everyone.
Mac Studio Radiance foundation
This is the latest foundation from MAC that was released last year. If you love the OG studio fix foundation but found it too matte, you will love this. Its got medium buildable coverage and feels extremely lightweight on the skin. The radiance isn’t from extreme shimmer/glitter but it gives a lit from within natural glow. Its got a lot of shades and undertones, finding a shade will too easy. Infact for me I was matched to 2 shades which both worked well. This foundation does dry down darker(slightly) so make sure you get samples to test out. My shade is NW47

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and NARS Light Reflecting Foundation
Now NARS is my brand. They don’t miss on complexion products. That’s why I have 2 options for you! These two foundations are quite similar, I personally don’t think you need both though. Natural radiant wear has more coverage and radiant than the light reflecting foundation. The later is supposed to offer more skincare benefits and I find the coverage on the sheer side, but it is buildable. I have both because I love NARS lol. My shade is New Caledonia for both.
Fenty Beauty PRO FILT’R Hydrating Foundation
The sister of the much-loved soft matte foundation, this version is lightweight, provides medium to buildable cover and has a dewy finish. It comes with the same number of shades as its predecessor so there is something for everyone. Get shade matched. I don’t own this foundation but I have tested a sample.
Finally, a hack for turning any foundation dewy/luminous. Add a liquid illuminator to any foundation. My fav combo is the Fenty Pro filter , a soft matte foundation and the Charlotte tilbury Hollywood filter I usually do this in the summer to get the best of both worlds lol but if you don’t fancy buying a whole new foundation then this hack could work for you.

I hope you found this post helpful! Are you a matte or dewy lover? Do you change your makeup according to the season?
catch you later
