Hi everyone! I hope all is well.
Hyperpigmentation/ dark spots, most of us have them but trying to get rid of them takes TIME! It seems everything makes it worst and every little thing leaves a mark behind!
Its long, I know. But I have learnt over time to just accept them so instead of trying to get rid of it as quickly as possible, I’m focusing on having a healthy skin barrier and practicing good skin techniques which in turns helps to heal pigmentation woes
Today I’m sharing my quick and easy morning routine and the reasons why I use the products/ingredients I use.

Cleanser- for the AM, I stick to hydrating cleansers (OR BHA cleansers if I have an active breakout or texture). Currently using the Garnier Gentle Hydrating Deep Face Cleanser. This cleanses without stripping the skin and helps maintain a healthy skin barrier.
Eye cream- gone are the days I thought eye cream wasn’t necessary. My under-eye area is one of my problem areas. Its dry and very prone to dark circles so any eye product I use must address this. The Sephora Eye cream* is super lightweight and hydrating. I haven’t seen any benefits in terms of dark circles improvement, but I really like it
Toner- Botanics Revive & Protect Postbiotic Facial Mist provides enough hydration and protection from environmental aggressors
Serums- I layer 2 serums. The Ordinary’s Multi-Peptide + HA Serum (“Buffet”) I love this! I added peptides to my routine this year and its here to stay. This is my 3rd peptide serum but 1st time using this one. I love the hydration it adds and helps keep my skin smooth and texture free. It layers well
2nd serum is Paula’s Choice Anti-Aging Antioxidant Serum– this year I decided to switch from vitamin c only serums to a more rounded antioxidant serum. Why have 1 ingredient when I can enjoy benefits from multiple ingredients? This PC serum has Vitamin C plus a range of other antioxidants, glycerine, and ceramides. This is my 2nd bottle, and I am IN LOVE WITH IT.
Sunscreen- the most important factor for fighting pigmentation. 2 full fingers length to cover the face and neck, sunscreen will help protect the skin from UVA/UVB rays which are responsible for making pigmentation darker. My current one is the Bondi Sands SPF 50
You will notice there is no mention of a moisturiser, this is because my SPF is moisturising enough and after my 2 serums, I find I don’t need one. If you need a moisturiser, use after serums before the SPF. SPF should be the last product before makeup.
That’s it! My easy and AM routine that I use to help with pigmentation. My focus is hydration, protection and maintaining a healthy skin barrier. I can vouch for all the products mentioned above.
