I used to HATE travelling with cabin bags only because it meant I was very restricted when it came to liquids. When it comes to makeup, I love options (setting spray much?), so even on a 3-day trip, I would always struggle with space! Over the years though, I have honed in on my packing skills, and I believe I have come up with something good to share
Cabin bags only means no checked (hold bags) so all liquids/gels/creams have to fit in that tiny plastic bag and each item has to be 100ml or less. Now you can get travel sized everything but sometimes, you just need extra space. There are a few products you can swap saving you much needed space to pack more of the things you want! Find out below

Facewash– swap for powder face washes or cleansing pads. This means it can be out of your liquid baggy! I’m currently using Juno CLARIFYING CLEANSING POWDER it suds up nicely, great for oily skin and cleanses well. I was gifted this product and it’s not easily available in the UK however I also love the Nip Fab Cleansing Pads– these have aha in them and work well to gently exfoliate the skin. They are suitable for am & pm use too. DHC also have a facial cleansing powder with very good reviews. For makeup removers, I use the Eve Lom Oil cleansing capsules– they smell heavenly and work well to remove makeup &sunscreen
Toner– Heard of toner pads? These are cotton pads soaked in toner so they do not go into your liquid baggage and you can bring the full sized product! NipFab have an amazing range of toner pads I highly recommend! First Aid Beauty, Pixi and Cosrx have some worth checking out.

Serums– in addition to travel sized bottles, the next best thing are serum capsules! These are so small and save me so much space! I love the Beauty Pie Vitamin C & E serum capsules they have 10% pure vitamin c and work well to brighten and provide antioxidant protection. If you’re not a Beauty Pie Member, Try Pixi’s version from Boots. Estee Lauder ANR ampoules are my travel HOLY grail. This night time oil treatment leaves the skin soft, nourished and radiant and it’s great for jet lagged skin. There are lots more serum capsules with great active ingredients on the market- Elizbeth Arden, ROC etc
Foundation– if you can’t get a travel sized version of your fav foundation, have you tried powder foundation? By switching to one, you will save a lot of space in your baggy. I’m a diehard fan of the iconic Mac studio Fix powder Foundation- the coverage and shade range is amazing! Fenty have a good range too.
I hope these tips will help with your next trip on cabin bag only flight! I would love to hear your tips too! Share them below
