NUNAAT CREAM GARLIC AND CUPUACU REVIEW

NAAT-Cream-Garlic-Cupuacu-260x260

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing ok so far. How is your summer going? Good I hope.

So as promised, there is the final full review for the NAAT cream Garlic and Cupuacu I purchased from the WITJ2015 event ( if you missed the event, you can read my event cover by clicking this link >> http://wp.me/p1uQOd-wx ). Ok so let’s get started!

Before I get into details, here’s what nuNaat have to say about the product:

NAAT Cream Garlic & Cupuacu is ideal for brittle hair. Specially formulated to strengthen and repair cuticles, leaving hair softer, healthier and completely revitalized. The perfect treatment for split ends.

BENEFITS

Deep moisturizing in 5 minutes or less

Suitable for daily use, in place of conditioner

One for every hair need

Can be combined to create a customized formula for your hair type

So does it live up to it?

YES. From the first use, I noticed a lot less shedding and my hair was left softer. I like that it doesn’t have any garlic or harsh smell. What I love the most though? Is the size, a full 1kg worth of goodness which provides 50+ applications (description on tub)! I think I got a bit carried away and I have now fully realised how much I saturate (over) my hair with conditioner when it comes to conditioning! I have used it four times now, and I think I have a bit more left for another 3 or 4 applications! (Tut tut, Smh Sarah).

For a blast of protein, I mixed one egg with the Naat cream and left on for about 30 minutes and my hair was strengthened with less shedding too. I’m not sure about the split ends as I don’t have any (well that’s what I think lol) and I haven’t noticed any difference in the state of my ends whilst using this product.

Verdict

It’s definitely worth it! We naturals are notoriously known to use more conditioner that anything else so I am happy that this comes in a bigger size! I think I am set for the rest of the year for conditioner, between the others I already had and these NAAT creams (I got 3 for £10 pounds from the event!), I am definitely good.

It also has good slip for finger detangling should you wish to multi use this product or condition before you cleanse.

I am not sure where you can purchase this yet in the UK (sorry guys) and I can’t seem to find it in on Amazon too. Anyway if you happen to come across it or you have been wondering about it then give it a go, you won’t regret it!

Check out the other creams in the range, watch the video below for a full explanation on them

That’s all folks, now moving onto the next NAAT cream and of course I will report back to you as usual. Until next time

Love

Sarah

Bentonite Clay Experience

bentonite-clay

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. In this post, I will quickly tell you about my bentonite clay experience. I got mine from SheaButter Cottage (http://www.sheabuttercottage.com/home.php) and it was either 3 or 3.60 for 100grams. I purchased mine at the Curlvolution event. I also purchased the rhassoul clay which I have already used and shared here on my blog click the link to check it out >> http://wp.me/p1uQOd-us

So I used pretty much the same water mix I used for my rhassoul clay: apple cider vinegar and water (I also used Aloe Vera juice in the mix for rhassoul clay but I didn’t use it this time).  I also used the whole pack which I didn’t have to because I found that it swells a bit so I had a lot left over from my mix. After mixing I did the usual, detangled my hair with coconut oil and applied the clay.

Results

I noticed it didn’t define the curls as much as the rhassoul clay when I applied it however I found this easier to apply and work with. I then covered my hair with plastic bags and went about my day. I washed it out after 45 mins and proceeded to deep condition after. I did notice it left my curls more defined after I washed the clay out than the rhassoul clay and my scalp was much cleaner. My hair was also very soft.

I am definitely purchasing this clay as I am trying to move away from shampoo all together! I prefer this than the rhassoul clay as it left my hair cleaner and softer. *checks account to see if I can purchase more lol*

That’s all folks. Really quick and to the point post about my experience with bentonite clay. Let me know your thoughts and comments below. Are you trying it? What was your experience? Let me know!

PRODUCT FOCUS- MOTIONS DEEP CONDITIONING MASQUE

Motions-Natural-Deep-Conditioning-Masque

Hey family, this will be a quick review on the deep conditioning masque from the Motions for natural textures line! (Yes they have a natural hair product line)

So the deep conditioning masque contains shea butter, coconut and avocado oils and is an intensive weekly treatment that claims to ‘bounce back dry parched curls to the manageable rehydrated ringlets you desire’.

By now everyone knows the routine for deep conditioning- apply product, cover with a plastic bag etc etc. After 30 to 45 minutes or longer- I usually apply, pile on the Tesco bags (lol) and go about my day till I realise I have to wash my hair otherwise it won’t dry on time the next day (anyone else do this?? Lol). Guys my hair felt BUTTER SOFT, it’s THAT real.  I have 4c hair so it wasn’t super curly or defined but I did notice some clamp-age (lol) of my curls going on. I LOVE the smell too! And you know how some products smell nice but they don’t leave your hair smelling nice? Not this, my hair was left soft and smelling nice.

I’m not sure of the price but check your local BSS (I got mine in a 4 for £10 deal at NaturalhairWeek2015 >>http://wp.me/p1uQOd-sZ.  Also check out my YouTube channel for videos from the event: sarahfynn). The only con I have is the size: its only 236ml! Which is small especially if you have long thick hair! This tub will last me two applications so basically my next application will be my last (nice knowing you lol), I am a bit heavy handed when it comes to applying my treatments because I like to make sure the hair is coated from root to tip. Honestly I thought the standard size was 300 to 500 ml, so I am a bit surprised this product is small and it’s the same for the pre-wash detangling butter ( check out my review here >> http://wp.me/p1uQOd-t7 ). Now that I think of it, I think all the sizes are the same.

Verdict- It’s worth it. It will leave your hair butter soft and smelling nice. If you have thick hair, you’re going to have to stock up and get two or three tubs if you want it to last a bit longer, my girls with shorter, finer or less hair will probably get more use out of a single tub. Go for it if you want to try something new or want an effective treatment.

That’s all folks. The last thing I got in this line is a styling product which I am still experimenting with so will do a review later.

Until next time

Love Sarah

P.S- if you are at Curlvolution this sat, say hello! your girl will be down there #bloggerduties

PRODUCT FOCUS- Motions pre-wash detangling butter

pre wash

This post will be a short review on the pre-wash detangling butter from Motions that I purchased from the NaturalHairWeek2015 in London. I will talk about the performance and my thoughts on the product. Let’s get started! If you haven’t already, check out my event cover on NaturalHairWeek 2015. >>http://wp.me/p1uQOd-sZ

So the product claims to and I quote “melt into each strand to provide deep penetrating moisture and instant tangle release. It is infused with shea butter, coconut and avocado oils, this ultra-moisturising butter smoothes over each strand to provide the ideal slip and softness to promote less hair breakage”

You apply it on dry hair to detangle and wash out straight away or leave on for a while for extra dry hair.

So does it live up to its name?

I really love this product. The smell is really pleasant which obviously comes in handy when spending long hours finger detangling your hair! It works really well to detangle you tresses and provide slip.  I experienced less shedding than usual, it may be due to the due that I was only finger detangling this time. I left it on for about 30 minutes or so and it left my hair butter soft!

I am not sure of the retail price as I purchased it as part of deal but check the major BSS or online for it. I like the packaging – the gold colours make it look expensive (or maybe it’s just me lol).

The only con I have about this product is the size! Its 229 ml- barely enough to detangle a whole head of hair! I got two tubs and each one lasted for one detangling session. Obviously if you have thicker and longer hair you may need more than one tub per session!

So is it worth it over a normal conditioner? I don’t think so. It’s a good product and works really well but it’s the size that really lets it down. Also if it was in a bottle with a pump that could have been easier to apply. I could get a normal conditioner probably for the same price or cheaper and it could probably work the same.

Final thoughts- I think it is a good product and someone with shorter and less thicker hair will get more use of it compared to someone with thicker longer hair.

TTPR- ORS Edge Control

edge control

ORS formally known as olive oil organic root stimulator ( So no, I havenot made a mistake)

Another product that is no old news to the junkies so let’s get right to it!

TTP!

Claims?- superior hold and shine

Does it work?- more or less, depending on your technique.( Sarah are you trying to tell me there is a way of applying edge control? YES. So I have natural hair so my edges are curly. For this to work on my hair I CANT just apply and bounce NO. I have to either use it on top of Eco Styler Styling Gel Krystal Clear 900 gm (click the link to check it out on Amazon) OR apply water to dampen my hair first then use. TIP_ apply hair gel with a toothbrush( but I’m sure you knew that already. NO? thank me then LOL)

Proof? – Youtube reviews, and I’m on my second container.

Safe?- first ingredient is water

Bonus?- this is difficult. hmm Can last all day depending on weather conditions. If you leave the container open for a while, the product tends to harden. I found it a bit difficult to spread.

Price?- £2.99 more or less. dependent on location. Check out Paks, Ace etc

Here it is in the glorified ORS packaging. I was right.  click on the picture to check it out on Amazon for only £1.97!

That’s all for now
