Superdrug Simply Pure Micellar Water Review

Hey hey guys, I hope all is well! So the festive season is upon us and by now I am sure you have pre pre pre-planned all your outfits and makeup looks-you guys plan your makeup looks too right? Like the eyeshadow and lips combo? It can’t be just me!

Anyhoo, no matter how beat your face is, it HAS to come off at the end of the night, no questions asked! I have been using the Superdrug Simply Pure Micellar Water over the last month to remove my makeup and I thought I would share my thoughts on the product with you! It’s a very easily accessible product and its uber cheap so I am sure you have seen it in Superdrug and wondered if it was any good.

Let’s get started

First things first

Superdrug’s simply pure range is specially developed for sensitive skin and made with no fragrance. If you would remember I reviewed the Simply Pure Hydrating Serum (which was raved about btw £3 wonder serum?). At the time, there was a buy 1 get 1 half price offer so I thought I would try the micellar water too- you guys know how I feel about micellar water.

The Simply Pure Micellar water is made with glycerine and soothex and promises to gently but effective lift impurities. They promise a non-greasy formula and is effective against mascara.

Experience

The micellar water has little to no scent at all and doesn’t leave residue on the skin. I find it quite effective against complexion makeup e.g powders & foundations and removes these with little effort. Against mascaras, I have to put just a tad bit more effort but against liquid lippies, you will struggle a lot. This isn’t a big con for me as I have other micellar waters that also need a bit of effort when it comes to matte liquid lipsticks. It’s not that it won’t remove it. You just have to press a little harder. I find the product really easy to use and since using it, I haven’t had any irritation from it. I think its deep cleansing too as I have little to almost no makeup residue when I go in to wash my face afterwards but then again I use about 4 to 5 large pads to ensure all my makeup it off.

The only con, in my opinion, is the size. I know it’s cheap but the product is only 150ml meaning it won’t last you very long. I don’t wear makeup every day which is why I believe this had lasted a month but I can imagine it lasting about 2 weeks or a little longer if I was using it every single day.

Verdict– this product is almost always on offer (case in point it’s on offer now) so it’s worth trying if you wanted something cheap and cheerful. You could probably get a lot more product for the same price but I would still recommend this as it’s quite a good micellar water.

The Simply Pure Range has just been expanded so check out some of the new products available!

Simply Pure Micellar water is £2.99 at Superdrug. Currently part of a buy 1 get 1 half price offer.

Get busy with other micellar waters I have reviewed. Have I tried your favourite one yet?

Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution Review

boots botanics micellar 3 in 1

Hey guys, I hope all is well! It’s been a while right?! I haven’t been blogging much lately as I have been super busy with work and went on an amazing holiday! But I’m back and hopefully with a few posts to keep you going. I have a block of product reviews coming your way (just in time for the gift buying season!)

The first of these reviews is the Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution, I picked up back in September. You guys know I am the micellar water queen, I love the technology and tried almost every brand (drugstore) and type from L’Oréal to Simple and wipes to micellar oils. Check my review index for all reviews. I am in search of the best drugstore micellar water and guys, not to be dramatic but I think I found the one!

The Boots Botanics Micellar Water 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution says it will dissolve makeup, unclog pores and remove impurities whilst brightening the skin. It’s formulated for all skin types and it’s free from fragrance, soap and alcohol. It’s formulated with hibiscus which acts as a skin brightener and the natural AHAs act as mild exfoliators to help leave the skin smoother and brighter.

Experience

I love how clean it leaves your face! Out of all the micellar water I tried, this one truly feels like you washed your face with water. Absolutely no residue left. Just a nice clean feeling. I also love how effective it is against liquid lipsticks and mascaras and all types of makeup! It doesn’t leave a horrible taste on the lips too, infact it has no taste at all. It also has no scent.

Although I haven’t noticed much with my skin been brighter, my pores have been kept in check and this leaves my skin smooth when I use it. It didn’t break me out. I have also used this to spot clean brushes and it worked quite well. My only con with the product is that it doesn’t have a dispenser so you have to cover the mouth of the bottle with your cotton pad and tip it over, which is not the most hygienic thing to do.

Verdict

If you have to try one micellar water it has to be this one! Perfect for all skin types and at an amazing price point! This one tops all the others and I’m calling it: it ranks 1st in my top 5 micellar water! You have to check this out! Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution is priced at £2.50 and available from Boots

B Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes Review

micellar wipes

Makeup remover wipes have had a long reputation for been ineffective, a lot of people say they only push makeup further into pores and around the face. I used to use baby wipes religiously till I fell in love with Micellar Cleansing Water and I have been using that ever since. I saw the B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Wipes in Superdrug earlier this year and I decided to try them since they featured micellar water technology.

Experience

I love these wipes! Because of the micellar water technology they are very effective in removing all traces of makeup including mascara! They are also very gentle on the face as it’s suitable for sensitive skin.  My face feels clean and hydrated after use.  Don’t you hate it when your face wipes dry out? These wipes also have a proper lid and an inner seal which allows it to remain moist for a long time! Trick is to push out all the air and store them upside down. The wipes contain Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, Aloe and Cucumber extract.

Verdict

You have to give these a try! I originally bought one and got one free as it was on offer for buy 1 get 1 free in Superdrug and they were only a £1 too. After a couple of days of use, I went back and purchased 2 more lol plus the 2 free ones and the other two I already had lol.

If you are still worried about making sure you remove every trace of makeup after wipes, follow the double cleansing method (which is what I do anyway) and follow up with your fav face wash!

B Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing wipes are £1 and available from Superdrug, not to be confused with the Superdrug Micellar Cleansing wipes which are £1.29. Each pack contains 25 wipes.  I now have 4 more wipes as back up lol. I came across this B. Pure Micellar Cleansing Oil and I can’t wait to start using it and bring you guys a review! Make sure you follow me on Instagram to catch all the latest products I will be trying!

NEW! NIVEA Caring Micellar Water Review

new nivea caring micellar water

It’s no surprise I am obsessed with micellar water ( I have a whole post dedicated to it, read it here). If you take a look through my REVIEW INDEX there are a few reviews on there! I have tried many brands so far: Garnier, Simple, L’Oréal and now Nivea. I even have Micellar face wipes

I picked up this product in Superdrug a while back and I have been testing it out ever since. This particular one is for normal skin types but I remember seeing one for sensitive and dry skin types too. It says it’s a 3 in 1 care cleanser for face and eyes and comes with Vitamin E. The description on the bottle says

  1. It removes eye makeup gently without rubbing and cares for beautiful eyelashes
  2. Cleanses deeply and effectively removes makeup
  3. Moisturisers and leaves skin feeling cared for. Skin feel refreshed and looks healthy and beautiful

It’s perfume free

What did I find?

The NIVEA Caring Micellar water is probably the best I have used when it comes removing eye makeup! It’s really easy and effortless. I usually let the cotton pad sit on my closed eyes for a few seconds and swipe! And in one swipe a lot comes off, I should add I usually use 2 mascaras or a primer + a mascara, in total I will have about 4 coats on. It also really leaves your skin soft and refreshed. My skin doesn’t feel dry at all.

I basically love everything about this! The size is my only problem lol but it seems 200ml is the standard size anyway.

I actually prefer this over the Simple Micellar water and the Garnier

I hope you check it out, its on sale for £1.99 RRP £3.99 from Boots
