Double Cleansing Routine

Hello everyone, I hope all is well.

Today’s post will be on my double cleansing routine. I don’t double cleanse every day ( but almost everyday lol), but when I have makeup on, I like to do this routine to ensure all traces of makeup are off. I may change products from time to time but the principle is always: balm/oil for the first cleanse (you may also use micellar water) and a face wash as the second cleanser (you could also use your face wash twice) the aim of a double cleanse is to wash your face twice to ensure all makeup, dirt, SPF etc is removed

First cleanse: Farmacy Green Clean

I love Farmacy Green Clean as a 1st cleanse! This is my second tub of this. It breaks down makeup, mascara so easily and very well. It transforms easily from solid balm to oil and rinses away clean. After massaging all over, I remove this with the Primark makeup remover cloth

Second cleanse: Fenty Total Cleanser

This is actually a makeup remover and facewash but I only use it as the latter. I do like this facewash, it leaves the face clean, removes traces of makeup and oil and doesn’t dry out my skin. I love the scent of this!

After my double cleansing I move on to a face mask next (depending on how I feel) or my evening routine (toner, serum, treatment, night cream).

I love these cleansers and they are an excellent addition to any routine.

Farmacy Honey Potion Antioxidant Face Mask Review

Farmacy is the skincare brand that’s been bussing in the Instagram skincare community for a while. I have always wanted to try the brand so when the Mighties giftset appeared on Beautylish, it was the perfect opportunity to try some of the brand’s best seller’s for a decent price.

Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration face mask is a warming mask treatment that transforms from a syrup into a cream when massaged. The mask promises protection from environmental stressors, hydration and soothing. It also suitable for all skin types especially dry & dehydrated skin and packed full of antioxidants

Experience

My experience with Honey Potion has been great. The 15g size has lasted me a few masking sessions and long enough for me to see benefits. The scent slightly reminds me of ginger but it isn’t a strong lingering scent. It is a thick textured syrupy consistency but it’s easy to scoop out and spread on the skin. It does warm up on the skin whilst massaging and goes from yellow to white. I did not experience any irritation from it.

I leave Honey Potion on for approx. 15- 20 mins and I really love how my skin looks afterwards. Btw this is one of the easiest masks to rinse off: it rinses off easily, quickly and clean. My skin is left smoother and hydrated plus it has a radiant glow. I definitely loved using this in the morning or every night as it was so easy to use.

Verdict

Honey Potion is a great all-rounder mask for hydration, soothing and radiance boost. Its packed full or honey and antioxidants so you are also getting protection from pollutants. I am in loved with the mask and it’s something I am looking to purchase soon. The travel size I have was a perfect taster and I am hooked!

The Mighties Gift set is a perfect gift to get for a skincare lover or for yourself to try the brand before buying a full sized product.

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm Review

The Farmacy brand is one those brands I discovered on Instagram. I discovered them earlier this year and it turns out it’s quite a popular brand! Among their popular products, I found Green Clean, a makeup melt away cleansing balm popular within the skincare community. I purchased ‘The Mighties’ set from Beautylish, which is the perfect introduction to the brand.

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm promises to melt away makeup and impurities without stripping the skin. It has their trademark Echinacea greenenvy formula which promotes an evenly toned complexion. It also has Moringa extract, sunflower oil and natural enzymes for gentle exfoliation

Experience

I had the trial size which I was using as a 1st cleanser in the evening. This size lasted about a week and a half. I did not experience any irritation from it. It has a lightweight pleasant scent. The texture is a soft balm that instantly melts into a lightweight oil when massaged unto the skin. It feels very gentle on the skin and quickly dissolves makeup & mascara. Green Clean emulsifies into a milk when water is added and rinses away clean and very easily. I tend to remove this with a makeup removing cloth. There is no residue left and my skin does not feel stripped.

Green Clean was extremely pleasant and easy to use. I was very impressed with how quickly it melts in the hands and how much makeup it removes. A little goes a long way with this balm and I only needed a small amount for cleansing. The amount still gives a bit of ‘slip’ for a facial massage but obviously, I would recommend a bigger amount for cleansing. I tried to make my trial size last as long as possible.

Verdict

I am in love with this balm and I can see the hype. The balm is an effective makeup remover and cleanser: I loved using it every night even when I had no makeup on which was most of the time. it leaves the skin feeling refreshed and comfortable but importantly clean!

The full size is also affordable and I am considering buying the full size. I will be reviewing the other products in the set.
