Beautify Large 6 Tier Clear Acrylic Organiser Review

Acrylic organisers are very popular for makeup organisation. They allow you to put your collection on display whilst the clear material means you know where everything is. The Muji drawers are very popular as they are made with good quality acrylic and easy to access for some. I prefer the 2 draw Muji Acrylics as they are quite deep compared to their 5 draw ones. But as my collection grows, it’s getting more expensive to get loads of these instead of investing in one large one! Enter my new Beautify Large 6 Tier Clear Acrylic Organiser.

What fits in the Beautify Large 6 Tier Clear Acrylic Organiser?

Review

One of the main reasons I purchased this organiser was to fit most of my bulkier skincare & makeup items that don’t fit in the Muji drawers. I am very happy it fits bulkier skincare items like I showed in the video. It also fits the Sasha Buttercup Powder. The acrylic is very good quality and it’s quite heavy. It arrived within 2 days and packaged very well- there weren’t any scratches on it!

I really do love this organiser. It is a bit on the pricey side but for what it can fit and I very happy with it. I do wish the top drawer was movable but I am happy with it. I have a growing collection and this organiser actually holds a lot of my items which means it’s not thrown in my box under my vanity lol. It also means I can use a lot of stuff- honestly once I put it in that box I usually forget about it!

Verdict

Makeup lovers, you will love this! It holds a lot of stuff and the material is very sturdy and strong. The seller offers free & fast 2-day shipping so you will be getting your organiser in no time! They have an extra-large organiser and smaller organisers in different colours, it’s worth checking them out! I hope the video helps because there’s nothing more frustrating than trying to buy an organiser but not knowing which of your products will fit!

It’s a small investment if you have already invested in your makeup/ skincare collection then this is worth it!

Beautify Large 6 Tier Clear Organiser is £37.99 and available from EBay.

HAIR GROWTH 102- SUPPLEMENTS

hairchart

Hi guys, happy new month! I hope everyone is doing great and enjoyed their first day of Feb! To all my final year students, 3 months to go!!

SO as I stated on my previous post (check it out > HAIR GROWTH 101- OILS >> http://wp.me/p1uQOd-qx), I am on a journey to get to minimise bsl by the end of this year. My true goal is to get to waist length hair.

During the course of this journey and however long it will take, I will be trying different products and methods whilst inventing some of my own (fingers crossed LOL). So this post today is a summary of the different growth supplements that claim to grow your hair quickly! I have used some and I am planning on moving on to some of these as well. As always I will provide links of any relevant videos/websites etc that I found useful and hopefully some of you will find it useful as well.

Let’s get started

HAIRFINITY

hp-unique-formula

Of course I had to start with hairfinity. Holy grail hair vitamins with celebrity endorsements and thousands of women including myself testifying of its benefits! (LOL) you can check out my previous posts on hairfinity

Introduction to hairfinity>> http://wp.me/p1uQOd-py ( I added links to some really good videos/reviews on hairfinity, check them out!)

Month 1 update > http://wp.me/p1uQOd-qe , Month 2 update > http://wp.me/p1uQOd-qh

I am on a 3 month hairfinity challenge. My last month is taking a bit longer than usual but I am hoping to finish this month and write my final thoughts on it! But so far so good. It’s a bit pricey, about £24.99 per bottle plus £10 p&p.  However if you follow them on instagram, they regularly post discount codes on there.

MANE CHOICE: MANETABOLISIM

manechoice

Another popular healthy hair vitamin. To my knowledge it works the same way as hairfinity. I havenot tried this yet but there are numerous videos that compare both products and discus their results. I can’t say for sure if one is better than the other however if they both claim to grow your hair and they both work, who cares? (Obviously product junkies/ brand conscious folk like me!)

BIOTIN

biotin

This is something I want to move onto after I finish my last bottle of hairfinity. Biotin is a water soluble vitamin with many functions including maintaining normal skin, hair and nails. Many foods naturally contain biotin however to really notice a difference in your hair growth; you need to up your intake. I am planning on starting out with 1,000mg (potency) and hopefully increase it in the next couple of months. Higher potencies are generally safe with no side effects AS LONG AS YOU DRINK ENOUGH WATER, I’M TALKING 1 LITRE PLUS! Compared to the other two hair vitamins its relatively cheap- about £14.99 depending on where you get it from. I will be getting my from Holland and Barrett >> http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-biotin-tablets-1000ug-60007961 ( its on sale now in shop and online, so if you were thinking of purchasing, now would be a great time). You can also get much higher potencies from Amazon.

Natrol Biotin 10,000mcg, Maximum Strength, 100 Tablets [Kitchen]

Swanson Biotin 5000mcg (5mg, 100 Capsules)

From what I have gathered from research, the pills are quite small and easy to swallow, for me pill size is not a problem, but some of y’alllll (lol).  Many videos on YouTube with amazing results on hair and nails. Side effects are minimal and any experienced is when they don’t drink enough water. Obviously if you are allergic to biotin, it’s a different story….  Other women also combine it with other multivitamins to prevent breakouts. I am not sure how products containing biotin will work in relation to hair growth.

Final thoughts

This is just a beginners list. I am sure there are numerous infact thousands of hair supplements out there (who needs a looong list?) I chose these 3 because they seem to be the most popular with the most information on the net (what I really mean is YouTube, I could be wrong though). Just make sure you have REALISTIC goals for these products. NOTHING is going to grow your hair overnight!

Everyday Inspiration- Regal Fro

Hey guys! So I’m back with another post in my everyday inspiration series! This time, the beautiful Regal Fro joins the many women on here sharing her inspirational story and advice for natural hair. So sit back and relax and get to know Regal Fro!

“Regardless of how you choose to wear your hair, remember you are a naturally beautiful woman.”- Regal Fro

regalfro31. Tell me about yourself- where you were born, your name, age what do you do?

I am a 34 year old, mental health advocate/inspirational speaker from Mississippi.

2. Where there a lot women with natural hair from your hometown/ where you were born?

I no longer reside in my hometown. However, I see women who are wearing their hair in its natural state daily.

3. Ok, with this in mind, did you find it any easier or more difficult to transition to natural hair?

It was only difficult because I didn’t have anyone I knew personally to turn to for hairstyling tips. Once I realized that I could get styling tips from naturals on YouTube, things became easier.

4.Now the big one- why did you choose to transition? Can you remember the date? How long has it been?

I began my transition because my daughter wanted to know why her hair wasn’t “flat” like other girls. I transitioned for 16 months. I began in August 2011, and I cut off my relaxed ends on Dec. 31, 2012.

5. Did you feel that making that decision was hard for you especially when most of the women around you had silky straight hair?

I made the decision to return to natural hair because of my daughter. As a result, I really was not concerned about how other women around me wore their hair. In addition, I never felt criticism from those around me regarding my decision to return to natural hair. I had to remember that I was once one of those women who had “silky straight hair”.

regalfro26. Cool, now let’s talk hair products, hair routines- did you have to change any of your hair products?

Yes. My transitioning hair was totally different from both my relaxed and natural hair. When my hair was relaxed, I only used shampoo, conditioner, and oil once a week. During my transition, I keep the same shampoo and conditioner but had to switch oils. I also had to apply oil more frequently and use styling products. The products I used were: Garnier shampoo and conditioner, almond oil, and flax seed gel.

7. What products have helped you maintain your natural hair?

Currently, I use the following products on my hair:

-Clarifying: Apple Cider Vinegar

-Conditioning: Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Conditioner & 3-Minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment

Moisture: Cantu Natural Hair Coconut Curling Cream

Oil: Cococare Castor Oil

Stylers: Eco Styler Gel with Argon Oil, Homemade Flaxseed Gel, and Garnier Curl Calm Down

8.Has there been a change in your hair routines? Like the number of times you wash your hair a week, how you protect your hair when you sleep? Protective styling? ( weaves, braids, ponytails)

My routine is simple. I clarify and co-wash my hair once every 15 -17 days. I deep condition once monthly and moisturize daily.  I protect my hair at night with a satin bonnet or scarf. I am not a big fan of protective styling because I enjoy wearing my hair out. However, during my transition, I wore mini twists for the last few months.

9. A lot of women I have spoken to say they want to go natural but find there are hardly any products for them. Can you recommend good hair products and if possible where to get them?

I rarely recommend products to people because I keep the products I use to a minimum. In addition, I do not switch products often. I would say that I companies have done an excellent job in developing products for natural hair. Product accessibility is probably better than it has ever been. If you are in an area that does not have retailers that carry natural hair products, then I recommend that you search the websites of large retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Walgreens. If you are unsure about what products to use, or would like to try various product, I would recommend a natural hair subscription box service such as Curlbox or Curl Collection. With your subscription you get products sent to you and you are able to test out the products. This can be helpful in saving time and money.

10. Would you advice any women to go natural? And why?

I believe that deciding to return your hair to its natural state is a personal decision that a woman should be allowed to make without pressure. In my opinion, it is a matter of respect. I wanted people to respect the fact that I wanted to transition back to natural. Therefore, I want to respect the decision of any woman who decides that having natural hair is not for her.

11. And finally what the best piece of advice you would give to a woman who has just decided to go natural?

Connect with other naturals as soon as you can and utilize social media outlets. Never be afraid to ask a natural via social media about products, styling tips, or just to vent. Normally, you will find someone who has tried the products, will tag you in a style photo, or experienced something similar. In other words, CONNECT, CONNECT, CONNECT!!!! You do not have to go on this journey alone.

12. If you want to add anything else please feel free to do so.

Regardless of how you choose to wear your hair, remember you are a naturally beautiful woman.

If you want to connect with me, you can check out my YouTube channel Regal Fro or follow me on Instagram @ regal_fro

THE BIRTHDAY POST- HAUL, PRESENTS AND COLLECTIONS

Hey guys so this is just a quick update on what’s been happening with me so far this year.

Firstly, its 4 months into my black hair survival challenge (for more information read these previous posts http://sarahfynn.wordpress.com/2013/02/10/a-year-without-braids-or-weaves-whatt-a-black-girls-survival-guide/ ). And so far so good! I have been tempted yess lol to get my hair braided but fortunately the hustle of travelling all the way to London to get it done put me off! But I will have to get my hair weaved in June for something! I know. But I will let you know why soon

Ok so it was my birthday on the 22nd of April!!! Whoop whoop finally 20! I am so grateful to God for the addition of another year and to all those who wished me a happy birthday! I pray this year brings me more success, wonderful surprises and the continued development of close friendships and relationships.

PhotoGrid_1360185340013

So the real reason for this post? (Bear in mind its exam season!) I quickly wanted to share what I got for my birthday. (Also I have not updated my blog in a while). I got some really really nice gifts, some of which were a total surprise and some I really wanted. So quickly here are my presents. I also want to say thank you to all who got me something.

Most of my friends know that I’m a collector of things: bags, perfumes, lipsticks, shoes name it! I love (over love) lipsticks. (This reminds me I need to get a new lipstick organiser. If you have a few and need a really cute way of storing it, check out these on eBay for really good prices http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24-Lipstick-Make-up-Cosmetic-Clear-Acrylic-Organiser-Organizer-Display-/370800863651?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Make_up_Cosmetics_Make_up_Cases_Bags_PP&hash=item56557429a3).

Anyway, I recently started getting into MAC ( I know I’m late but I didn’t want to jump into the HYPE just because) so I got my myself( for my birthday of course, the match master foundation, studio fix concealer and fix plus spray) and I loveee it. I also got the viva glam two lipstick(satin finish). During the Easter, Debenhams has a sale on their MAC lipsticks (12.60 not a huge difference but just enough for me to purchase two more lool) I bought the candy yum-yum lipstick (matte finish) because it was soo hyped, I got it and it’s not even that great and the half and half (amplified finish). This was the first ever MAC lipstick I tried on last year and fell in love with it so obviously I had to get it and I LOVE it.

matchmaster foundation(9.0), fix plus and studio finish concealer (NW45)

So knowing this my friends got me four more MAC lipsticks!!!!

Ruby Woo (retro matte) – my girls are so proud of me for getting this. Apparently (true) all my lipsticks are neutral colours lool but hey you can’t blame me for that lol.

Pink nouveau (satin) – I like this better than the candy yum-yum.

Up the amp (amplified) – the most amazing purple lipstick everrrr.. LOVEE

Angel (frost)- also one of the MAC lipsticks I fell in love with

Perfumes

I have 6 perfumes already not a massive collection so I was planning on getting some more. Insert birthday insert presents 3 new sexy perfumessss

Roberto cavali aqua- I have been wearing this all week. I love love love the same of this. This perfume came with a free gift; a large golden bag which will be great for when I have to start travelling. Love the smell love the bottle top for some reason

Coco Chanel- perfect mistake. I told my friends to get me the Coco Mademoiselle( you know the one with keira Knightley in the advert? The pink one?) But they forgot and got me this one instead. This is okay because I love this scent. It’s such a classic ridiculously expensive perfume (lol). Love it and you know I will only be wearing it on special occasions. ( Still contemplating if I should get the Coco Mademoiselle)

Calvin Klein one- I dislike strong perfume and this one is quite strong. I was happy to get a CK perfume but I’m not a big fan of this scent. Hmm maybe it will grow on me.

I love bags. Omdz. Walk into my room and I have all manner of bags. In particular, I love the structured-put-me-down-and-i-will-still-shine-bright-like-a-diamond kind of bags( I just made that up but you know the office structured bags)yh. So my girl got me the Zara office bad in black and boy. I loveee that bag. It’s got so many different compartments. I used that bag for 3 days and I still have not used some of the compartments in it loool. That bag is now beside my other Zara bag( you know the large shopper bag that was the HYPE last year?)

I bought a new camera- all the pictures were shot with it. canon powershot A810 HD

Peruvian hair. Actually this I bought in Jan with my wages for my birthday. By the way I know I haven’t updated my wig making post( if you haven’t already check it out http://sarahfynn.wordpress.com/2013/02/18/survival-series-1-wig-tutorial/ ) but it was the same hair I used and I have finished the wig and made its debut on my birthday. Check out virtue glamour, the lady from who I purchase the hair from https://www.facebook.com/VirtueGlamorLtd

I’m also thinking of buying new conserves but I haven’t decided if I should or not.

So guys these are what I got and I am really grateful for everyone who came to my lunch( since we are all under a lot of pressure and that epic fail afterwards when we said we would go to the library lol), all everyone who called me as well or text or instagram or tweeted me God bless you.

End of post getting back to my revision. I am in the library.

I will be doing swatches of my lipsticks at some point in life, but not now, not when I have impending papers.. Second year uni student!
