Best Blushes for Dark skin

I can’t complete any makeup look without adding a pop of colour on my cheeks! I love to match my blush to either my lip or eye colour or just a neutral /warm flush of colour when I can’t be bothered lol. A lot of my dark skinned sisters feel otherwise and feel like blushes don’t look particular good on melanin skin! This is completely the opposite! If you pick the right shade and texture the blush will compliment any skin tone and makeup look!

In this edit, I have picked my favourite blushes! These look amazing on dark skin and are pigmented enough to show up on any skintone! I have been a victim of over blushing and it’s not cute lol but in return I learnt the importance of good lighting when doing makeup! Most of these blushes are matte, I try to stay away from shimmery blushes because I also use highlighters but most of the time if I go for a shimmery blush I use less highlighter or no highlighter at all.

NARS blush in Seduction, £24

This dark plum shade looks amazing on dark skin. I pair this with nude/ neutral lips but I have even used this with a red lip and it looked good! The blush is very pigmented so gently dip into it and tap away excess

Juvia’s Place Saharan Blush Palette Vol 1, £20

Is this the world’s most pigmented blush? This blush palette has me shook! It’s extremely pigmented, so I am very careful with the application! It’s such a beautiful palette that looks amazing on dark skin. As a bonus, you get 2 highlighters and the shades can also be used as eyeshadows

Sleek Blush by 3 in Sugar, £13.49

Easily my favourite drugstore blush, the demera shade in this palette is the perfect example of a cheek colour that pairs well with any look. It’s pigmented and blends easily on the skin. Sugar also features a shimmer shade which looks great as an eyeshadow. Blush by 3 comes in a lot of other shade ways. Worth having a look – swatches of them below too!

Elf Cosmetics Blush in Brick Red, £3

Super cheap blush for £3 but looks great on?! This Brick red blush from ElF is exactly that. It’s not necessarily red but it adds a warm glow to the skin. It does have some shimmer but this does not translate a lot on the skin. I love how pigmented this is and did I mention only £3?! Plus other good picks!

Anastasia Beverley Hills Blush Quad in Gradient, £31

It’s pricey but you are getting 4 blushes! Featuring all matte shades and warm shades this quad is one of my fav blushes! I love the brown shades in this quad and they add a warm flush to the cheeks! Trust me it shows on the skin. There’s a greyish shade in there but looks nice as a natural contour and the deep purple shade will look amazing on deeper skin tones!

I can’t do a blush edit for dark skin and not include my favourite two blushes from MAC Cosmetics: Sweet as Cocoa is a shimmer blush and the only shimmer blush I actually love. Adds a gorgeous bronzy colour to the skin. And of course Raizin– a matte blush I think every dark skin beauty should own!

Do you love blushes? What are some of your favourites?

My Ultimate Drugstore Makeup Kit

Primer – I never do my makeup without this and I have loads! I am currently switching between a few but I super love the Makeup Revolution Face Primer which is only £4

Makeup Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer Review

Foundation- A good base from the drugstore? For dark skin? Some drugstore brands are killing it atm. I am currently loving the Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation for everyday wear. It feels lightweight and has the dewy fresh finish I love. I have the darkest shade Tuscany but what’s genius about this range is that they have Shade Adjusting drops you can use to lighten or darken your foundation for your perfect shade!

Colour Corrector- I use Orange colour correctors to cancel out any dark areas on my face. Hands down my fav and best one I have used so far is the LA Girl Orange Corrector

Concealer- A super cheap and very popular concealer. I bet you know what I am going to say. It’s the one and only LA Girl Pro Concealers! I have the shade Toast for everyday wear

Under eye setting powder- I used to love Sacha Buttercup Powder as an under eye setting powder until it turned on me. I use the Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder in Deep to set my concealer nowadays

Brows- I haven’t really mastered the art of filling in brows and I am so thankful I have thick brows. I always use a clear brow gel to brush them in place. At the moment I am using one from Collection

Face powder- I live for my MAC Blot Powder but on super casual days, I reach for my Milani Pressed Translucent powder which gets the job done too.

Highlighter- When it comes to highlighters, you know Makeup Revolution is killing it right now! I have loads of them but I tend to reach for the Rock on World Baked Bronzer the most. I have swatches of all the highlighters below in my Best Highlighters Pos

Blush– A good pigmented blush is hard to find in the drugstore but Sleek never goes wrong with these. I have 3 of their blush palettes and I reach for the Sugar palette the most

Contour- I’m only starting to learn how to contour so I decided to start from the drugstore. I have been using the Nyx Contour Palette in Dark

Setting spray- I’m a lover of setting sprays! I really like the BodyShop Vit C & E face mists, or the Makeup Revolution Setting Spray

Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Amazing Makeup Fixing Spray Review

Mascara- It has to be the Revlon Ultimate All in One Mascara. Lengthens and thickens!

Eyeliner- Barry M Kohl Pencil, very nice and pigmentated

Eyeshadow – I’m really an eyeshadow for special occasions kinda girl but if I am feeling fancy I will pull out the GOSH quad. I love the neutral colors and it doesn’t crease either

Lipstick- For lipstick, I chose the Lottie London Liquid Lipstick in Hey Bae, a super casual brown/nude color. I live for drugstore lipsticks and have quite a few.

SO that’s it folks, my Ultimate Drugstore Makeup Kit featuring all my fav drugstore makeup items. I linked reviews/posts I have on products so make sure you check those out for detailed info on them
