RoC MULTI CORREXION® Revive + Glow Night Serum Capsules Review

Hello everyone, I hope all is well.

Today’s post will be a full review on the RoC serum capsules I received in January. The MULTI CORREXION® Revive + Glow Night Serum Capsules has 20% pure vitamin C and promises to reduce dark spots in 4 weeks! It also promises to reduce discoloration & lines and resurface the skin overnight.

Experience

I used this at the serum step in my PM routine. It took a little over 4 weeks because I took some breaks. I started to use this with a BHA serum however by day 5 this combo left me with some texture so I took a 2 day break. I then switched to a mandelic acid serum and I didn’t experience and issues with that. My PM routine was as follows:

B Creamy Foam cleanser> Tears of my enemies HA mist (gifted > The Ordinary mandelic acid serum > Revive+Glow capsules> Lancome Genifique serum > Cervave moisturing cream or Clinique Moisture Surge Auto Hydrator

This routine worked really well and the products paired well together. The serum has a silicone base so has that texture and feel to it (similar to a primer), surprisingly this didn’t cause any pilling with other products. It did sting the 1st few days of using it however for a high vitamin c that is not surprising. The stinging stopped after day 3 or 4. (If you are new to Vitamin C, I would recommend starting slow, 1x a week, then 3x a week till your skin can build tolerance)

2 weeks into my test, I got a new spot on new cheek which you can see in my picture, the 2nd dark spot next to the original one. This wasn’t caused by the serum, that spot that been festering under the skin for a while and decided to show up then! I tend to get spots in the same area and no matter what I do, I always get hyperpigmentation afterwards 😦

Verdict

Here are side by side pics. I think the serum did really help with reducing some of the dark spots I have on my cheeks. I am also really impressed with it reducing the new dark spot in a little over 2 weeks. Overall, my skin looks radiant and feels smooth.

I did enjoy using the MULTI CORREXION® Revive + Glow Night Serum Capsules. It did reduce my discoloration and improve overall skin radiance. I will recommend this. These will also be great for travelling!

I was gifted this product but my opinions and reviews are my own. Always remember to use SPF in the AM.

L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser Review

I like to use gel/lotion textured moisturisers in the spring and summer when my skins becomes oilier. I decided to try the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser this year as it was one of the more affordable drugstore and popular drugstore option. I have the one for normal to combo skin but it is also available for normal to dry & sensitive skin types.

L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser promises

Instantly Refreshes:
Immediately absorbed, the water-like texture rehydrates and reinvigorates the skin.

Instantly Locks in Moisture:
The formula penetrates deeply for a healthy-looking glow

72hr Recharge
It releases continuous hydration and drenches the skin with moisture for up to 72 hours.

Experience

I have been using this moisturizer in my routine (AM & PM) since March. This is probably the lightest moisturiser I have used. It has a pleasant fresh scent, feels slightly cooling on the skin and sinks into the skin beautifully and easily. There’s no oily residue or stickiness. I have experienced no irritation with this.

This moisturiser layers quite well with other serums I haven’t experienced any pilling. It leaves the skin hydrated with no heavy feeling. I really like the packaging too

Verdict

I absolutely love this moisturiser and will happily buy it again next year. For extremely oily skin that needs a lightweight non greasy moisturiser this would be excellent! I have actually carried on using it into fall and it still works well.  I’m almost out of it!

L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser is currently on sale for £6.66 (RRP-£9.99) in Boots

Bliss Bright Idea Vitamin C Serum Review

For the last 2 years, I have always used a Vitamin C serum in the mornings. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to brighten the skin as well as boost sunscreen protection. I have used a lot of vitamin c serums and the latest one is the Bliss Bright Idea Vitamin C Serum.

Bliss Bright Idea Vitamin C Serum promises to brighten, diminish the look of dark spots and visibly firm skin. In addition to Vitamin C, it also has Tri-Peptide, Licorice Root Extract and Glycerin

Experience

I’ve been using this serum every morning from August this year and I’ve just run out. The serum has an orange soda scent and feels very light on the skin. I’ve experienced no irritation from it. It pairs well with other products with no piling: I use this under a 2nd serum (currently using Inkey List Niacinamide), moisturiser and then SPF.

The serum uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid which is a vitamin c derivative. This form is more stable in water and oil and less irritating than pure Vitamin C but it still has brightening and protection benefits. Whilst I haven’t noticed a huge reduction in hyperpigmentation from the serum, my skin overall looks radiant. The serum also adds some hydration to the skin. My skin looks plump and healthy.

Verdict

I bought this on a whim because it was on sale and I had just run out of my serum. it’s a nice enough serum and I would recommend and repurchase it. I’m doing a ‘tour’ of Vitamin C serums so I won’t repurchase for now.

It’s a gentle enough vitamin c to try and the additional beneficial ingredients means you are getting a well-rounded serum.

Bliss Bright Idea Serum is £13.33 in Boots

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Serum Review

Farmacy skincare is finally more readily available in the UK, they are now stocked in Boots! I have loved this brand since I tried their Green Clean cleansing balm (which is amazing btw) and the Honeydrop moisturizer.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Serum is an acid serum with AHA/BHA/gentle flower acids (14%) that promises to resurfaces, hydrates and clarifies dull skin for a healthy natural glow

Experience

I use the serum in my evening routine, after toning and before my treatment serum ( for pigmentation). The serum is very lightweight and pairs well with other products. I did not experience any irritation with it. It has a woody scent which I found pleasant. The scent lingers for a while.

14% acid serum was the highest acid serum I used at the time so I did experience a little stinging at first use. The stinging didn’t last long and a quick spritz of a hydrating mist helped soothe my skin. It did not go red. After a week, my skin built tolerance so I was able to use it every night.

The serum helps to retexturise the skin, and leaves it smoother and healthier. I love this serum! It leaves my skin glowing. For an acid serum, it’s also hydrating because of the added hyaluronic acid.  I loved it so much that after using it for a few weeks I bought another bottle! I have finished my first bottle now and will start using the next one soon.

Verdict

In conclusion, this is well formulated acid serum! If you are new to acids I would advise to start slow- once a week for a few weeks. Also keep a hydrating mist nearby. Do not combine with other acids or retinols and PLEASE use sunscreen.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow simply delivers on its promises and I highly recommend it. If you are not ready to get the full size, you can get deluxe sample sizes in gift sets, try the beehive gift set on BeautyBay

If you are already convinced then the full size is available on Boots

Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream review

I tried Glow recipe for the first time this year. I picked up the Glow Vanity set with came with a deluxe size of the Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream. This brand has been on my radar for a while now so I was really excited to try them

What the brand says:

Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream is a soothing, lightweight moisturizer that resets, replenishes, and seals in a boost of lasting hydration without clogging pores, for all skin types, even acne-prone skin. It is non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, making it especially good for sensitive skin. Blended with banana, chia seed, magnesium, turmeric, and cica, this sweet soufflé is your recipe for calmer, hydrated healthy-looking skin.

Experience

I’ve been using this in both my morning and evening routines over serums. its lasted about 3 weeks and I haven’t experienced any irritation from it.

What I liked: this lightweight moisturiser has beauty gel-souffle texture and sinks into the skin easily. It smells amazing. I really like how soothing and hydrating it feels on the skin. I use it over serums and I have not found it pilling on me. I use a fair amount. It provides a good amount of hydration which I find long lasting. It leaves no oily residue and leaves a glowing finish to the skin. I have normal to combo oily skin and it works really well with it. It doesn’t clog pores. It’s full of antioxidants and soothing ingredients.

What I didn’t like: nothing

Verdict

This moisturiser is amazing and joins my list of favourite moisturisers. It is suitable for all skin types because of its lightweight texture. No oily residue and heavy feeling it left on the skin. It layers really well over serums and suitable for day and night.

I will definitely recommend and look to repurchase

Timeless 20% Vitamin C& E Ferulic Acid Serum Review

This year I started my ‘tour’ of vitamin C serums, we know the mother of all Vitamin C serums is the very popular SkinCeutical CE Ferulic which also costs £109 for 30ml! So I started my tour to find dupes and the best-formulated Vitamin C serums on the market.

I got the Timeless 20% Vitamin C & E Ferulic Acid serum which is known as a dupe for the skinCeutical.

What the brand says:

Vitamin C in the form of L-ascorbic acid is a super-potent antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution. On its own, it’s super effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and other signs of photodamage, such as hyperpigmentation and sunspots.

Teamed with 1% of free radical fighting Ferulic Acid and 1% of skin-nourishing Vitamin E, it’s the perfect blend of brightening and firming ingredients, fast-tracking your way to gorgeous skin. It restores the skin’s natural elasticity by supporting collagen production from within. With a natural vitamin C skincare product, your skin is provided with the nutrients and vitamins it needs to replenish. Through the use of the Vitamin C serum, you can provide your skin with a fully nourished, beautifully replenished look without making it dry out or look older and wrinkled.

Enriched with the finest ingredients, including vitamin C, you can enjoy an anti-aging skin serum that allows your skin to feel nourished and loved, each and every time you apply it on. Unlike other skincare products, this product is a proven match for most skin types, to provide the benefits and nourishing effects you’ve come to expect from a high-quality Vitamin C serum.

Experience

I got mine in the restock which meant it came quite fresh. I really like that they have the manufacturing date on them as they are made in batches. I started using it right away, every morning after cleansing and toning. My current AM routine is in the pic above

What I liked: this formula has 20% L-ascorbic acid, 1% Ferulic and Vitamin E which is the best antioxidant combo for protection and to fight hyperpigmentation. Although it’s a high Vitamin C content, I did not experience any irritation or stinging with the serum. It is a very watery serum that goes onto the skin easily and absorbs quickly. It doesn’t pill and layers quite well with other products. What I really like is the addition of Sodium hyaluronate which is hyaluronic acid so it leaves the skin very hydrated.

I started noticing results around 3 weeks, my skin looks brighter and is glowing. I haven’t seen a difference in hyperpigmentation yet but my skin appears healthier and even-toned.

The serum used to come in a dropper bottle but I am so glad it’s now in an airless pump bottle to keep the Vitamin C fresh

What I didn’t like: not really a big deal but it goes out of stock quickly.

Verdict

This is an excellent and more affordable alternative to the skinCeutical CE serum. The Timeless formula has a very short ingredient list and the addition of hyaluronic acid really helps to hydrate the skin. For a high Vitamin content, I did not experience stinging or irritation, this was a pleasure to use.

This serum is made in batches so it goes out of stock quickly but they are very good at keeping customers updated. I got mine in the 1st week of June and started using it on 14/6, I wrote this review on 18th July and I can see it slowly changing colour. it’s not quite oxidised yet but its, not the clear cloudy colour it was when it arrived fresh. I have about 3 days left anyways s I don’t mind.

What’s great about the Timeless website is that they also sell some popular K beauty items.

Timeless 20% Vitamin C& E Ferulic Acid is £25.99 on Timeless

Lancôme Genifique Youth Activating Cream Review

I started my venture into Lancôme skincare last year when I purchased the Genifique skincare gift set which came with the 30ml Genifique serum and a 15ml cream. This post will be a full review of the cream.

What the brand says: Génifique Crème Start your journey for younger-looking skin with Lancôme’s Génifique Cream, a daily moisturising face cream that promotes a more youthful skin appearance.

This velvety formula provides moisture and leaves your skin feeling velvety soft to the touch with a radiant glow.

Experience

The 15ml size lasted for about 3 weeks, I started using it in my night time routine but it didn’t pair well with the serum I was using it with so I moved it to my day time routine. After I stopped using that particular serum, I started using the cream in the evening again, so I was using it twice a day.

It has a strong perfume scent.

What I liked: the cream has a beautiful velvety texture that feels silky and smooth on the skin. It spreads really easily and doesn’t pill when layered on other products. It leaves my skin feeling moisturised without any oily residue.

It contains ingredients and extracts known for skin moisturising and soothing properties and some barrier repair ingredients.

What I didn’t like: I mentioned I had to stop using it for a while in my night routine because it wasn’t pairing well with my serum. The serum I was using was the new Estée Lauder Vitamin C serum. What was strange was that I would use the serum over my face and neck but when I layered on the cream, my face would start tingling (not a lot but I felt it) but my neck would be fine. I also didn’t get that sensation when I used the cream in the morning over a different vitamin c serum. I’m not sure if it was the cream or the Estée Lauder serum but something wasn’t pairing well

Verdict

This is definitely a luxurious cream. The texture and scent are very reminiscent of expensive skincare. Is it worth the hype? I don’t think so. I didn’t notice any huge improvements in my skin whilst using this? No.  Do I mind getting it again in a gift set? Of course not, I did like using it but will I go and buy the full size? No.

Lancôme Genifique Youth Activating Cream is £63.50 for 50ml at Boots

Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster review

I haven’t used much of Elizabeth Arden’s products but out of the 2 I previously tried, I fell in love with one which was the 8 Hr Miracle Mist. I wasn’t really looking for Elizabeth Arden products last year but when I came across the Superstart Skin renewal Booster and I was quite interested in it.

What the brand says:

Elizabeth Arden SUPERSTART Skin Renewal Booster helps restore the healthy look of skin’s surface layer, fortifying its natural ability to repair and renew. Designed for Every Woman. Every Skin Type.

Experience

So last Christmas, I purchased the 30ml booster in a gift set forgetting I had already told my bf I wanted it for Christmas lol. I ended up with 2 of these which I didn’t mind because I could really test out the claims of the product. I used the first one earlier this year, finished it and went a month without it before starting my second bottle. I’ve been using my second bottle for about a month and a half now.

The booster is a lightweight serum which feels really nice and soothing on the skin with a delicate subtle scent. I use it mostly in my evening routine but I have also added it to my morning routine a lot of times. I use it after toning before any serums. The booster alone feels hydrating on the skin and I haven’t experienced any pilling when I have layered other products on top of this. I really like the product on its own and I liked that it helped to soothe my skin when I damaged my skin barrier due to over acid use.

The booster contains some probiotic and other ingredients that help to strengthen the skin barrier keeping it healthy. You also get some anti-microbial ingredients in here as well as some hydrating ingredients

Verdict

Does it help to boost the effectiveness of other products? I used the booster with products I haven’t used before so whether it helped them be more effective who knows. Did I notice any difference with the time it takes to notice results from products? No, not really.

I like the booster as a standalone product because there were many times I layered simple hydrating serums over this and called it a night. I like that it helped restore my skin when it was irritated from over acid use, in fact I really like this for helping to soothe and restore the skin. It layers well, has an amazing texture and it’s a good product on its own.

I guess I would have to use the booster with a product I am quite familiar with in order to test out the claims of boosting a product’s effectiveness.

I will repurchase but not straight away, maybe at Christmas when it comes back in a gift set.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Moisturiser Review

PTR is one of my favourite luxury brands! I have tried a lot of their products and I feel like the more I try the more I love. Today’s post is no different, I have a full review of their moisturiser I used last month (I wrote this review when I was still using it)

What the brand says

Drench your skin with a liquid cloud of moisture drawn from the atmosphere. This concentrated 30% Hyaluronic Acid Complex cream provides up to 72 hours of hydration—even after cleansing. Three molecular sizes of Hyaluronic Acid, a potent hydrator that can constantly attract and retain up to 1,000 times its weight in water from moisture in the atmosphere, help replenish skin to make it appear more supple, full and smooth. Ceramides help lock in moisture while ProHyal+® helps improve hydration for healthier-looking skin. Antioxidant-rich Elderberry helps defy the look of aging. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is visibly reduced, leaving a silky, hydrated and more youthful-looking complexion. Oil-free, alcohol-free, fragrance-free.

Experience

I was using this moisturiser twice a day, morning and night. This is a gel-cream textured moisturiser, it goes from a cream to a gel when massaged onto the skin. It has a pleasant scent and didn’t irritate my skin. I got mine in the A list kit on Beautylish.  It was only 20ml and I got a week’s use out of it (bear in mind I used it twice a day)

What I liked: this gel-cream texture is super lightweight and it sinks into the skin quickly. I found it soothing and hydrating and it layers well on top of creams. I would sometimes layer oil on it as part of my PM routine and I got no pilling. The texture of this moisturiser is great for combination (my skin type) and oily skins but tbh I think it would be great for most skin types. It hydrates without feeling heavy on the skin and leaves no oily residue.

The main ingredient is Hyaluronic acid which we know to be a great ingredient when it comes to hydrating and plumping the skin. This moisturiser leaves my skin hydrated, plump and healthier looking. It also has other beneficial ingredients like ceramides and antioxidants

Verdict

A great moisturiser that I fell in love with! They have recently released this with added SPF45 and from the reviews, I have seen, it is invisible n dark skin! Do you know how excited that makes me lol?

As I said earlier, I got mine in the A list kit. ( full kit products below) I 100% recommend this kit because it contains most of PTR bestselling products in deluxe/travel sizes and these will last you long enough to get a good feel of the products and brand.

Peter Thomas Roth A list kit is $58 on Beautylish

Youth to the People Superfood Moisture Cream Review

Youth to the People Superfood Moisture Cream Review

Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing great.

Today’s post will be a full review on the Youth to the People Superfood Moisture Cream. I have just seen that they have changed the name of this cream to Youth to the People Superfood Air Whip Moisture Cream. I don’t know if the formula as changed too ( apart from the texture) but after a quick glance, the main ingredients remain the same

I heard about the brand on Instagram about two years ago, in particular their Superfood Cleanser. UK been the UK, this wasn’t available here so I got my friend to get it for me from France. I don’t remember the cleanser been mind-blowing, I think it was good but I don’t remember anything else lol.

The Youth to the People Superfood Moisture Cream now the Youth to the People Superfood Air Whip Moisture Cream is formulated with Kale, Spinach, Green Tea and Hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin and provide antioxidant benefits. It helps to restore, condition and balance the skin

Experience

So I used this as my moisturiser both in my AM and PM routines. The cream is a very lightweight texture that feels soft on the skin and absorbs instantly. I really like the scent of it, it smells fresh like any leafy green superfood food you will get. It layers well with other products

For me, I am quite disappointed in it. Apart from the texture and scent and of course the antioxidant benefits, I really didn’t feel like it’s was much to my skin. I don’t find it hydrating when used at night layered over serums, it doesn’t give me that final moisture seal I need. When I used this in the morning and I felt as though I didnt get enough hydration. My skin didn’t feel dry because of the other stuff I used but this cream just didnt do it for me.

Verdict

So I really like the lightweight texture of the cream but unfortunately, I didn’t find it moisturising enough. I have normal to combo oily skin which they say it’s perfect for but I found this lacking. It has a great scent and good ingredients but it wasn’t enough for me. I have the trial size but it lasted slightly longer because I was using it intermittently because I wasn’t enjoying it. I have finished the pot now, I wrote this review last month

You can find out more info on their YTTP website
